“Wee-wee’d up” is a lexical creation by President Barack Obama.”

And it can only be said while wearing neatly pressed Mommy jeans.

I write a lot of Business requirements, functional requirements and even teaching documents. There is a word I use all the time that does not exist and I’ve even “added” it to my dictionary in Word. Like Shakespeare, I too invented a word. It comes from the word incentive. The word is incent.

The spell checker here hates it too. :)

FWIW, sometimes I say subscription when I mean prescription. So sue me. ;)

refudidate is not a word that Palin made up. I’ve seen it used elsewhere. Its common usage

Sarah Palin: the first person ever to enter typographical error (colloquial: “typo”) since the beginning of the Internets.

Although it is not quite commonly accepted, I have heard refudiate used a number of times before this controversy started.

Sarah certainly did not make it up. I figured it for one of those regional words that pop up now and then.

She misspoke...

She should have simply said: “I misspoke”, and moved on.

Who cares what people put on Twitter? It’s the embodiment of language destruction.

What other private citizen can launch a thousand columns with a Twitter or a blurb on her Facebook page? Anyone who thinks she won’t be the next president is dreaming.

BFD

It’s called a typo. Everybody makes them, especially when they type 40+ words per minute.

Not sure about “refudiate” I’m thinking it’s too re-redundant.

I LOVE “misunderestimate” that really captures something that people do. In fact, aside from starting the war against radical islam (even if he’d never have said THAT) this word may be W’s lasting contribution.

Wee wee’d up I like also, because it’s like something my dad would have said.

She shouldn’t have deleted the Twitter post where she used this word, to replace it with the one about how Shakespeare made up new words.

There was no need for her to have had to hide that.

The word has been around for a while:

From Google Search:

The Lunatics of Terra - Google Books Result

John Sladek - 2005 - Fiction - 144 pages
'I refudiate that.' 'You what?' Jane felt suddenly cold all over. ... And how come he uses the word "refudiate" on TV and you use it five minutes later? ...

Okay, since others have confessed, I will add my malapropism. In college I used the word "stypified" in a written report. (I don't know, I guess I was too lazy to use stipulated AND typified:)

The professor stypified stipulated that there was no such word.

“Repudiate” is a word and I am just as likely to assume that the person who made this claim up initially just misspelled what she said. So the person who heard this is claiming that they heard a “fu” rather than a “pu”? This is really trivial stuff, even if it is true.

To Dictionary.com: When you arbitrarily changed the definition of marriage from a ‘union of a man and a woman’ to a ‘union of two people’, you lost any standing to complain about anyone else changing language. Just like changing your definition of marriage (and mine’s still the same as it was), you're playing politics here. Wonder if you're a registered PAC...

Worrying about her use of language helps them avoid dealing with the point, which is that New York’s grandees have granted permission for a mosque to be built at Ground Zero.

And she has called them on it (as have millions of people) and all they can do is prattle. They are building a mosque at Ground Zero, and all they can do is prattle.

And no one seems to be thinking that maybe she mispelled a text message by accident?

How many people here have been called out by the spelling police, and it’s not really a spelling error at all, but just clumsy fingers hitting the wrong button at the wrong time. I personally always have to go through all my notes for “teh” which I put in place of “the”.

Maybe she simply put an f instead of a p while typing fast.

You know, like saying 57 states when you mean 50.
