Wait, does this mean cut and cap is a failure?

And it’s no where near what the bad spills have been, but the media would make you think it’s the end of the world. It’s not..... The earth will cope.

For those of us who don't want to watch a video, WHAT'S over?
God, I hate threads like this.

So it’s over, or it continues?
One condition would seem to preclude the other.

I haven’t looked at Zerohedge or the video but it is a great puzzlement that the engineers so severely misjudged the ability of the sheer to cut the riser and drill pipe. Mystifying. This part of the operation should have been routine and all the numbers (strengths, forces) were well known.

I remember when Ray Nagin called New Orleans—chocolate city. Maybe now we can just refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Molasses Sea.

Cut and cap? How could they be giving up on that so soon? They just started trying.

Someone further down in the thread says they won’t finishing cutting the pipe for the next attempted cap for 3 days. So maybe mitigation is still being attempted?

Interesting series of events:
Thad Allen says that the first cuts are beginning and that the effort to cap the well was well under way and going good.
A few minutes later Obama announced that the Justice Department was pursuing legal action against BP
A few minutes later BP suddenly pulls are their equipment and announces that all efforts other the relief wells (which will be done in August some time) have been halted.
Sounds to me like BP decided to give Obama a big F.U.

It seems no one is considering the 2 Chronicles 7:14 solution: If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and seek My face and change their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive them and
heal their land. We have not because we ask not.
