Isn’t it sad that some selected groups are allowed to have âprideâ in their heritage and country of origin, as long as it isn’t this country? The one nation that values individual liberty above all else is not allowed to show any kind of pride or solidarity. Yet authoritarian, restrictive, anti-freedom regimes are lauded and celebrated. Truly a world gone mad.
The quote symbols you used apparently aren't acceptable in FR's version of html, therefore the crazy keyboard characters. Or did you mean to italicize the word?
Why is it that I’m no longer surprised by ANYTHING a leftist does? This family should find an ambulance chaser and file some sort of action against the teacher and the school. Conservatives—that is, NORMAL, everyday Americans—must stop being nice in response to leftist assaults and ludicrous behavior. These people must be faced with the same sort of intimidation tactics they so gleefully use on us.
Great post! And YES, I think it is CRAZY how the minorities are not the TYRANTS in our country-in our schools, in our congress and mainstream press and on and on.
It's much worse than that. Other than the caucasian European nations of Spain and Portugal, there is no country of origin for "Hispanic" or "Latino." There is no race "hispanic" or "latin." BOTH words refer to LANGUAGE: Spanish, and Latin, and BOTH LANGUAGES are 100 percent caucasian European in their origin."
In a devious way, the terms "Latino" and "Hispanic" actually and solely refer to anyone descended from, or presently living in, nations in the Western Hemisphere that were former colonies of Spain.
PERIOD.
For someone to be proud of his or her Mexican or Peruvian or Brazilian or Chilean heritage is totally honorable and understandable. For someone to be proud of his or her "Latino/a" or "Hispanic" heritage is political posturing built on a devious premise.
The same is true for "African Americans."
