Here is video of Fox News' Shepherd Smith this afternoon blasting Attorney General Eric Holder for claiming the Times Square Car Bomb attack was "thwarted."
"That's not true. That's not true according to the facts as given to us by the Feds. This bomb was not 'thwarted.' This bomb failed."
"Now I can think of a lot of different reasons they would want this. For instance, down the road, the next time something happens, they can say,'We thwarted Christmas Day and we thwarted Times Square.' But that wouldn't be the case. And part of our job, I think, is to not allow revisionist history to take over . . . "
Good for Shepherd Smith! Shepherd Smith was persistent even after he got an on-air response from Holder's office that tried to explain away his "thwarted" statement. Smith played Holder's words again and pointed out the fact he had clearly claimed the attack was "thwarted."

I’m glad something finally moved him to clarity!
I don't either. He seems a little too liberal. Am I being too harsh on him?
I LOVED that quote..God Bless him..if I were to ever meet him I would salute him..he is the reason why Times Square was saved
Me too....I don’t watch him or Bill OReilly. I called in and got on with Shep in the early days when they took calls. The jidad muslims had just done in David Pearl and I said something to the effect that this shows how peaceful the Muslim people were.....he jumped all over me with his righteous indignation on the part of Muslims and had me disconnected.
The only way the gov’t could claim credit for “thwarting” either bombing would have been if the bombers went to public school and were thus too dumb to make their bombs work.
Apologies if anybody else already said this.
I seem to remember that - BTW it's Daniel Pearl
Exactly! The only reason this did not go off was because of the bomb setters incompetence not by anything the Obama adminstration did. By them saying this shows me just how weak they really are on things. Why else would they try to take credit where none should be given?
“I am pleasantly surprised in Shep! I quit watching him some time ago..”
Likewise . . . I’ve had no use for Shep for a long, long time. Seems like a fish out of water on FNC.
Team Obama want to call it ‘thwarting’ so that they can take credit.
Recall Napolitano saying ‘the system worked’ and the briefs bomber was also ‘thwarted’. [Neither of which were true in actuality.]
Otherwise, they would appear to be incompetent — both the terrorists who failed and the government officials who failed.
What disturbs me is not whether the bomb was thwarted or failed.
What disturbs me is this bomb was meant to have major consequences. It meant to kill a lot of people and destroy buildings at peak TSQ time.
You know, sooner or later this Laurel and Hardy act running our national security right now is going to run out of luck and one of these godawful things is going to go off.
Each time its been “luck” it hasn’t, or an alert citizen. The feds are doing major fail here.
Great point. LOL!
Shep will say he misspoke before the weeks out.
well...even a broken clock......
If only he did this critical thinking every day and every hour he’s on the air. Would be nicer if journalists could be this precise with this regime.
bttt
LOL
I forgot about that.
I’m not a big Shep fan but, I got to say he was right on this one and did a good job of reporting.
Michael Savage: “So a man working the hotdog stand goes to a cop on the beat because if you go to the Feds they’d just blow you off. Now they’re congratulating each other for the great work they did and probably are interrogating the poor hotdog vendor.” [paraphrase]
[I hadn’t listened to Savage in half a year or so. After losing Mark Levin at 7, I just had to check him out.]
