They're just all slimy and gross. I like most other veggies, but Brussells sprouts are disgusting.

Trick question.
Mutt. Mainly Highland Scots and Danish Viking (on my mother’s side). The Missus is a Teutonic Hun. (Her daddy’s name was Wolfgang and the last name had umlauts.)

(Heh!)
But my favorite composer was a Finn.

I love the name Wolfgang. There just aren’t many names cooler than that. (Well, I’ve always liked Finbar, too.)

Mmmm, trout. I never see trout around here on menus. Yum. I used to order it fresh, “bleu,” in Europe. I was not great at filleting though... It’s quite the art.

I agree. I wouldn’t mind it if I never had peas again. The only thing those things are good for is a handful in the shepherd’s pie.

I never liked okra in my gumbo. Mom made me eat it, anyway. But, now I make my own gumbo sans okra, yum.

Brussel Sprouts are my favorite vegetable, Broccili is number 2.
What I HATE ar peas!
To: CaptainK
I love them with butter an salt or dress them with balsamic vinegar, dash of salt and bake them.
I have eaten them for years and have never found them slimy, may-be the way the wife prepares them ? I know she boils’ them and smothers’ them with cheese, umm! umm!!!

My mom loved Brussels Sprouts and every now and then she would try to get me to eat them. I’ve always hated the way they tasted (and the, uh, after-effects), so I would refuse. For some reason she got a kick out of this. We eventually made a deal: she would cook a small amount for herself and a different vegetable for me if I would eat just one sprout. I agreed to this, and I always made a big production out of eating that single sprout. It always made her laugh. I miss those times.
I like most veggies, but I haven’t managed to overcome my dislike of sprouts. I’d like to try some of the prep ideas I’ve read on this thread. Maybe a new way of fixing them will change my mind.
