This is not true. Christian Scientists cannot opt out...our leadership has communicated this to all our members. Please correct this fallacy.

Perhaps something needs to be clarified here. In the case of “opting-out” of benefits, does this also remove your obligation to support the program with your taxes?
My suspicion is no, and if this is the case you may be cutting off your nose to spite your face. You might still have to come up with all the bucks to support everyone else, but you cut yourself out of the benefits. Sure, you’re maintaining your principles, but your also getting screwed on your taxes.
Just askin’ the question.
Oh yeah, since I’m 1/4 Indian, do I have the option based on my “ethnic extraction”? If so, it will be the first time in my life I ever found it make any difference one way or the other. I’ve told folks I’d swap it for a lift ticket, but so far no takers. :-)
Native Americans have their own healthcare plan ... http://www.ihs.gov. They do not have to opt out of anything.

So what do they do about automobile insurance which is a requirement in many if not all places in the US?
This can’t be legal.
I think the Muslims may avoid Obamacare, but also have to opt out of SS.
But IMO I bet they get to opt out of Obamacare and yet find a way to suck onto the SS and medicare (Just watch).
