STATEMENT ATTRIBUTED TO MICHAEL CAPUTO CAMPAIGN MANAGER
PALADINO FOR THE PEOPLE March 20, 2010 Carl Paladino is deeply disappointed in the Conservative Party for not having the courtesy to allow us to compete in what turns out not to be a democratic process.
Its a shame that a personality conflict between Ed Cox and Mike Long has forced the Conservative Party to choose a weak candidate whos a certain loser and who doesnt support key tenets of the Party platform.
Todays endorsement of pro-abortion banking lobbyist Rick Lazio for governor may mean the end of the Conservative Party. The Paladino campaign is moving ahead to aggressively petition the Tea Party onto the general election ballot.
Take this prediction to the bank: Carl Paladino will win the Republican primary nomination for governor, and the Tea Party that endorses him will outpoll the Conservative Party in November.

Carl Paladino is a Buffalonian, property developer. A bit of a loose-cannon and while he has led successful initiatives in the past (for example removing toll barriers on the thruway near Buffalo that should, according to law, have been gone many years ago), he has never been a politician. Not sure he has much name recognition downstate and in NY City. NY State is now like Communist Eastern Europe in how frozen and controlled our politics is - so he has a big fight ahead of him.
He has promised to try and put Sheldon Silver, corrupt speaker of the NY Assembly and political apparatchik extraordinare, in PRISON — so Carl Paladino has my support for that!

Yeah, mine, too!
I just discovered another thread here:

Carl Paladino sounds better and better.
Rick Lazio is not pro abortion.
i wonder why this guy doesn’t do something constructive with his life in this historic year? the lure of imprudent folly is too much for some.
Hats off the John Faso for putting the ego in check and spending his year supporting someone else in NY20 instead of insisting on being in the limelight.
If Rick Lazio isn’t pro-abortion, then Stephen Douglas wasn’t pro-slavery. Both were “pro-choice,” meaning that they strongly believed that it should be legal for one person to be free to murder an unborn child or to keep a human being under slavery, respectively.
Just because Lazio voted for the ban on partial-birth abortion does not mean that he isn’t pro-abortion, just like a 19th century anti-abolitionist was no less pro-slaverymerely because he may have opposed certain forms of torture against slaves.
That being said, NY does not have many pro-life conservatives with the profile and experience to mount a successful gubernatorial run, and none of them are currently seeking the governorship. Lazio may yet win the nominationby default (especially since his strongest challenger is a registered Democrat).
Who is Faso supporting in NY-20? Personally, I was disappointed that Faso didn’t run.
I believe Faso is working “full-time” for Gibson, recruited him and got him set up ... arranged the crowd for the kickoff event. just my impression.
Thanks. What can you tell me about Gibson?
Thanks Sun
“Rick Lazio is not pro abortion.”
Has he changed his position since he ran against Hillary? Because he was proabortion then, except for partial-birth infanticide.
I’d really like to know.
The NY conservative party is a joke. Just a patronage machine now. It endorses non-conservative Republicans and even some rats like Levy.
Sometimes they have it right, and sometimes they don’t.
I used to be registered with them, but I left with disgust.
Paladino-Nadler 9/11 cage match
Carl Paladino is as unimpressed with Rep. Jerrold Nadlers criticism of Paladinos Obamacare-worse-than-9/11 statement as he is by the fact that Nadler kissed enough asses to chair a committee of politicians in the Congress or so Paladino opines in a letter the likely gubernatorial candidate sent to the Congressman today.
Dear Mr. Nadler:
I have read with interest your comments regarding my recent appearance on Curtis Sliwas show on 970AM the Apple. Your statement drips with the pomposity and arrogance we have come to expect from our rotten ruling class, so busy clawing for campaign contributions they cant find the time to understand the bill. I am not impressed that you kissed enough asses to chair a committee of politicians in the Congress, and the fact that you are Chairman of a House Judiciary subcommittee hardly means you are an authority on the Constitutionality of the Obamacare law.
You cant recognize the role small- and medium-sized businesses play in real job creation because you have spent your life on the public payroll. I am the CEO of a successful corporation directly employing hundreds of workers, providing work to thousands of others and investing every single day in economic development. I know what Obamacare will do to the business core of New Yorks economy it is going to choke us, plain and simple.
Finally, my law degree is just as good as yours; I practiced in the New York Courts for 15 years. I have reviewed the bill and ten state Attorney Generals agree with me that the law is unconstitutional. I also stand with all the New Yorkers who are signing my Sunday night letter to Andrew Cuomo calling for New York to join the 10-state lawsuit against Obamacare.
We the People are tired of the political gamesmanship of partisan hacks. Anytime you want to debate this, I invite you to come to Buffalo and bring it on.
Sincerely,
Carl Paladino

Thank you. He is a very intelligent, well-informed man, who will make a great NYS governor.
Also, I wish more people knew about Cuomo’s problems with HUD.
