"Ronald Reagan would never have loosely generalized about conservatives and the Republican Party because like a surgeon, like a real thinker, and like an activist, he wanted the distinctions to be known, he wanted the distinctions to be clear, he wanted to promote our principles, and he wanted to contrast them with those who either had no principles or were promoting something else. Carpet-bombing the Republican Party takes out an awful lot of good people, too many good people." -- Mark Levin, February 22, 2010
Mark Levin took great issue last night with "carpet-bombing" the Republican Party:
Mark had some advice for the bomber:
"It is the spending, stupid." Yes, we get it; this grass roots movement of ours gets it and seems determined to vote out of office the offenders. Yet just reading one label, i.e. Republican or Tea Party, and applying a value to candidates is very risky.
In Nevada, a man who few ever heard of and who has not been endorse by two substantial tea party groups there, is polling at 11%; his candidacy might return Harry Reid to the Senate.
Rand Paul in Kentucky is polling far ahead of his nearest opponent to become the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate. He sounds remarkably like his father, Congressman Ron Paul, on national defense. Rand Paul speaks about the "military-industrial complex." He derides McCain-Feingold yet proposes he own set of restrictions on campaign contributions.
Rand Paul is also factually incorrect about both our invasion of Afghanistan and what constitutes a formal declaration of war. He quotes Michael Scheuer saying, "One of the mistakes we made in Afghanistan was not that we invaded but that we waited a month and a half to go in." Paul expands from that by saying, "So there might have been a reason the President could have sent Special Forces in secretly within a few days and I think that could have been something that would have been justified. However, the truth is it took us a month and a half to get into Afghanistan and there is no reason why there should not have been a declaration of war vote in Congress." Here are the facts: our Special Forces began crossing the border into Afghanistan before dawn there on September 12, 2001; we began invading Afghanistan in force on October 7, 2001; and Congress has 'declared war' more times without using those words that it has used them during our history. In addition, Congress voted in favor (including Ron Paul) of an 'Authorization to Use Military Force' on September 18, 2001 and it did not limit the President to merely invading Afghanistan:
That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.
If that was not a declaration of war, then two Presidents have violated Congress's intent in Afghanistan. Yet Congress has since authorized more than 800 billion dollars and nearly 1,000 U.S. troops have died fighting there. It is clear to me that Congress declared war and Rand Paul would be a 'chip off the old block' as a U.S. Senator.
Voters beware!
Do you have a speech impediment that causes you to write the same thing over and over? Levin, you say, is jealous of Beck. He has contempt for Beck. Jealous describes Beck, he is jealous of Rush, Hannity, Levin, etc., which is why he works so hard to get MSM stories planted about him, which is why he seeks to divide conservatives, which is why he exchanges spit with O’Reilly on Fox, etc. Tell me, are you jealous like your hero. More to the point, what is your heroes solution? He now says he opposes a third party, after suggesting he did for a year. He has now embraced Levin’s (and Rush’s) position. Not only is Beck jealous, he is moronic, much like his supporters. Now stop dividing us, stop undermining us, leave it to the real men and women.
He’s the antithesis of a “country clubber” (which is what we used to call Rockefellar Republicans). But he is rich. Like Levin, Hannity, Rush and every other media star.
I don’t have a problem with that. People who put their God-given talents to good use and work hard deserve it.
Mark Levin was a Grad. of Law school in his early 20s and
in his 20s was Chief of Staff to Attorney General Ed Meese in the Reagan Adm.
Mark Levin is President of Landmark Legal Foundation, a Conservative Pulic Interest Law Firm.
He has written best sellers Men In Black about the Supreme court
and Liberty and Tyranny on the Constitution, issues of the day and a Conservative Manifesto
Mark has a long time high rated radio talk show.
and Mark is also a FReeper
Beck is all show no substance.
He is from a Democrat family and spent most of his life as an alcoholic DJ
He is now receiving so called political information from
PaulBots and going on rants much of which is knows nothing about except repeating talking points.
Some people are sucked into the showmanship of Beck and
his attempt to label the Republicans and Democrats as one.
Demint & Palin are the same as Harry Reid & Pelosi, who knew.
Beck is careful to massage his words leading people to support a third party.
As he said at 2:48 pm PST, yesterday I don’t support 3rd parties BUT
if there is no choice he would vote that way.
In other words if the Republican wasn’t 100% pure he votes 3rd Party, knowing that Third Parties only receive approx.
5% of the vote and facilitates a Democrat victory.
Tell that to the folks in New Canaan.
Just wait, they’ll be going after Sarah Palin next.
So, then, why is Levin attacking Beck?
He wanted a TV show and its just not fair? wwaahh
Mark does not want a TV show.
Mark Does NOT want a TV show.
He does his show from his home outside of D.C.
He has health problems and the last thing he wants
involved in is a TV show
My question is why is he attacking Beck?
Why isn’t he attacking more liberals?
Divide conservatives? Isn’t that what Levin is doing when he attacks Beck? If Levin wants a TV show he needs to work at it.
Beck is not my hero. I don’t watch TV much and I haven’t caught his radio show in a year. I did see the CPAC speech on the internet, which was great.
If you ever listened to Mark, you would know that he does NOT want a TV show, although he is constantly being pressured to go on TV.
Mark needs to go after liberals and RINO’s. Attacking Beck is counterproductive.
**This is what a Congressional Declaration of War sounds like:**
Since the Constitution gives Congress NO FORM on what a “DECLARATION OF WAR” should Look Like, a “USE OF FORCE” resolution sounds pretty damn close to me.
Someone made a “parade jumping” comment. As if Beck had cut in line for the TV show or something.
I don’t listen to either of their shows. I am simply going by the Levin-Bennett (who dug him up?) attack. The attack is baseless.
I don't want to go around hawking my fan website, but you asked and the best way for you to understand is to go to my site and listen to Mark talking about Beck.
Maybe he, uh, disagrees, uh, with, uh, Beck and his, uh, incoherence, and, uh, illogic, and, uh, carnival act, uh, see what I, uh mean? You know, uh, like Morton Downey, uh, Jr, who used to get big, uh, ratings, until, uh, he went too far, uh, being the phony he, uh, was. Uh, jealous? What, uh, are Beck’s radio ratings, huh? You keep saying, uh, that he has bigger ratings, uh? Link? Evidence? City? Uh, can we see?
That’s neat what you did there, with the bold letters. Very clever.
So, what the heck are you doing here then? Is it your hobby to go arguing about things you know nothing about?
