Glenn Beck is irresponsible in his leadership
me ^ | 02/18/10 | Jen Kuznicki

Glenn Beck, the latest phenom of the Conservative Movement, jumps the shark nearly every week.

I have not been a fan of his. That said, I believe he is putting the movement in jeopardy.

You could spend a whole day surfing youtube for his latest outlandish behavior, but I do not fault him for that. In the entertainment industry, it is necessary to put on some sort of showmanship. I don’t personally like his brand, but I would not bicker over personal taste.

The problem I see is that he is not uplifting. He is more libertarian than conservative, but his message always seems to end up with the viewer or listener commiserating with him. As if he has accepted being the shepard and just aims to console rather than inspire.

It is not a good path for someone who commands as great an audience as he has.

Beck should lead like a parent, allowing his audience to understand that while exposing what the administration is doing, he encourages them to want to do something about it. He does not do that, instead, he nurtures inaction. Sitting around and learning bad things then mourning for their country will drive people to drink and continue to want to commiserate with others who do the same and cycle continues. The only stimulating thing Beck has done has to do with driving people toward Ron Paul, which is just disgraceful, especially since the Paul followers are isolationists and security-challenged.

I take serious offense with his continuous drive toward a third party. That idea is reprehensible and he should know better, and has been pulled by the ear by many conservatives because of it. Yet, he continues. He seems able enough to repeat quotes from serious scholars and thinkers without telling his audience who said it first, but he hasn’t an inkling how to listen to the message these thinkers give.

Many have wondered if he is just in “it” for himself. There is nothing wrong with being a capitalist, but to steal and put up fronts is no way to lead. The worst kind of capitalist is one who does not govern himself first. Perhaps that is why he doesn’t inspire his viewers and listeners. He doesn’t know how.

Look, I know he has had a past that included drugs and alcohol, and I do not fault him for that. People in glass houses and so on, but his direction is no longer humorous.

Being in management myself, I have always employed the idea of hiring your replacement, then staying one step ahead of them. It encourages healthy competition and drives the best to the top. Sarah Palin was just hired by Fox. If she is given any kind of freedom there, Beck is toast.

I watched the Constitution Town Hall that Hillsdale College gave a while back, and Dr. Larry Arnn said that in order to move the country to where it needs to go, which is toward the Constitution and the Founding, it is going to take a lot of thinking. Mr. Beck needs to start doing that.

I didn't even mention his research or his educating people, or his ability to hold an audience.

and i'm sick of reposting my post to people who did not read it the first time.

You are the one who gets it. Culling through all of the disinformation is hard enough, without the completely inane. There is so much garbage to cull through, it makes me miss newspapers.

If we had a conservative newspaper that reported the bulk of what is newsworthy, I could cut my browsing down substantially. Instead we have hundreds and hundreds of bullcrap article here.

People post garbage satire and you are ready to rip somebody’s head off when you realize it was all a joke AND COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR TIME.

Same for these garbage, know-nothing vanities and the millions upon millions of stand-alone bloggers who used to waste no more than pages in their pathetic diaries. Now they write their banal diaries on line and think the rest of the world is interested.

Puke on them.

I am just trying to stay informed because the press and TV news refuse to keep me informed. I am here to get news and information without the propaganda. Last thing I need is another 5,000 or 10,000 posts like this one that seem like it is going to be worth something, but ends up being just some random clown’s diary entry.

Yeah, I could post my daily diary entry too, but nobody in their right mind would want to read it.

I wish these egotists would just cease posting their worthless stuff to cull through, and let real news float to the top. That’s all.

I was disappointed in his criticism of Dr. Alan Keyes today. He said something to the effect of Keyes being a person that we should avoid, simply ‘cuz of his being a “Birther”.

Whatever happened to Beck’s “ASK WITH BOLDNESS” statement? Whether someone is a “birther” or a “truther”, I think it is important to ask questions. An informed citizenry should always question authority. We should be consistent in searching for the TRUTH regardless of where it leads us.

Beck lost it with most when he keeps stating Republicans and Democrats are the same.

Beck is saying Sarah Palin, Sen. Demint, Ann Coulter,
and millions more like them are like Obama, Harry Reid,
Pelosi, etc. to push his third party shtik.

Gov Palin and Ann Coulter are like barry?
How would Beck even justify that statement?

Beck gives the over all statement Republicans and Democrats are the same.
This is delusional.

I didn't even mention his research or his educating people...

Actually you did. (I read it)

Beck was where I learned about the 9/12 rally in DeeCee. I went. He is trying to spur people to action. Don't ever recall him saying we should support Ron Paul. And Glenn does know that national security is of paramount importance, he'll tell you that is one of the few delegated powers the FedGov enjoys. W/out NatSec, everything else becomes moot.

If republicans and democrats are the same, one would be rooting for a third party.

He gives Ron Paul a platform-bad idea.

Don't like his research - do your own. You are assuming I have a problem with his research, is that what my post was about? Nope.

You may not know what I do. It is a lot, believe me, a lot. You are either intentionally ignoring my point, or you can't see it.

that is why beck is leading the suicide party

democrats suck
republicans suck
you suck
i suck
traffic lights suck

he does inform, but at the end of his show, i am left with a feeling of hopelessness

beck did not start the tea parties - but like an opportunist, jumped out in front as if he organized it

the only thing i see that he wants us to do is buy the latest book he wrote this week, buy his web site membership and pay to watch him froth at the mouth in ‘concert’ or in a theater

i wonder if he barks at his ‘concerts’

if i was a libtard, i would name beck as leader of the republicans and conservatives - and play that clip of him barking on tv in a loop

becktardz can say its ‘satire’ or ‘comedy’ all thay want, the man just seems manic/depressive

Amen. And you have the presence of mind and maturity of character to know this. Some don't. Obviously.
