It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible."

“The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained”

"Make sure you are doing what God wants you to do---then do it with all your strength."

“What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ.” "It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favors."

"My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her."

Here are some great quotes from George Washington. "The 5000 Year Leap" Is a great book to read on President's day. It gets into the mind of these great historic figures of American history. We could sure use him today!

George Washington was perhaps our greatest President. He could've easily become a King (remember, back then no one had ever tried this "self-government" stuff before, and everybody had Kings). Washington had the stature to declare himself king, and most Americans wouldn't have minded. If people like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson had objected, they would've easily have been pushed aside due to their unpopularity among certain circles.

However, George Washington decided to give this experiment a try. He set a lot of precedents in his first term...things like what he was called. Many people didn't know what to call him ("You Excellency"? "Your Highness"?). When someone suggested "Mr. President", Washington adopted it.

George Washington wasn't a perfect man. He had a spotty record as an officer in the French-Indian Wars. He made some colossal blunders as General in the Revolution. He had a massive temper that he had to learn to control. He chose incompetent subordinates in places due to their "experience" (Charles Lee) or outright traitors like Benedict Arnold.

However, he was steady, in control, a natural leader, learned from his mistakes, and knew goal of the war wasn't just to beat the British, but to secure independence for America.

He was the only man who could keep the coalition of disparate personalities like Southerners and New Englanders together during the Constitution process. He was smart enough to appoint Alexander Hamilton to run our treasury and stabilize our money.

George Washington deserves every accolade he's getting right now.

Many of those quotes are repulsive to many of those who have taken over the American left in recent years. The new party line these days is that the Founders were a mix of deists and atheists with not a kind word for Christianity.

Sorry...must take a bit of exception to some of your post.

Charles Lee was thrust on fact, some members of the Continental Congress wanted Lee to be Commander in Chief. Can't blame him for Lee.

As far as Arnold is concerned, he was one of Washington's bravest officers; if not for his charge on horseback during the battle, Saratoga would likely have been lost. Washington tried to get Arnold promoted, but Arnold had too many enemies in congress to get approved.

And finally, Washington's bravery at the Massacre on the Monagahela earned him worldwide fame. It's tough to blame Washington for the killing of Jumonville after the battle in the glen, since the battle was likely started by an errant shot and Jumonville killed by the Indians.

Col. Sir,
I know... The left HATE our Founding Fathers. They would have had them all shot. ‘The 5000 Year Leap” will put to rest any doubt that our founder’s were NOT just deist. The Left loves to throw that word around. Don’t forget also separation of church and state

Isn’t it ironic that the left enjoys their freedoms because of the Founding Fathers. If it weren’t for them, the leftists/anarchists/democrats/media would be in prison or would have been disposed of ala Soviet Union or Cuba.
And yet they trash the very people who wrote the documents that protect free speech. The party in power are doing their level best to destroy the constitution. The media campaigned for and are currently backing a constitution hating party and it’s marxist leader. If they continue to garner power, the media will be put under their thumb and there will no longer be a free press.
I have been saying this for years, the MSM is actively participating in their own demise. And they are too idealogically blind to see what’s coming at them.

exactly, they would be living in the jungle as savages. The jungle hosts all those who have fallen from society and have trespassed against God’s natural laws. Romans 1:18-32

They are constitutional and American apostates.

Dear comrade. This is to notify you that quotes attributing religious faith, in particular that of the Christian religion, to so-called founding fathers have been determined to be contrary to the Secular People’s Republic. Any and all printing, dissemination, reading, or meditation upon such is therefore strictly BANNED.

Your IP address has been recorded, as are those who have dared read said forbidden material. You have twenty four hours (24) to remove these quotes from the Internet, as well as your hard drive and any other location they may have been retained. Failure to act within that time will result in prosecution by the People’s Protection Services. As per the Operation Clean Bill of Health Act (OCBHA), those who have visited any site where said outlawed material has been hosted will be notified to report to their local reeducation centre for evaluation of their threat to the Republic, and the degree of mind cleansing required to sanitize politically incorrect thinking. The Atheists Civil Liberties Union will also assist in this procedure. However, this service is free, in accordance with provision #66666 of the Global Health Care Act. Resistance will be futile.

A bit exaggerated, but may we make good use of our liberty to spread light. Thanks, and here are a few from another soldier:

“No other book of any kind ever written in English—perhaps no other book ever written in any other tongue—has ever so affected the whole life of a people as this authorized version of the Scriptures has affected the life of the English-speaking peoples.”

In this actual world, a churchless community, a community where men have abandoned and scoffed at or ignored their religious needs, is a community on the rapid down grade.

He will listen to and take part in reading some beautiful passages from the Bible. And if he is not familiar with the Bible he has suffered a loss.

He may not hear a good sermon at church. He will hear a sermon by a good man who, with his wife, is engaged all of the week in making hard lives a little easier.

I advocate a man’s joining in church work for the sake of showing his faith by his works.

A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.

To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.

There is not in all America a more dangerous trait than the deification of mere smartness unaccompanied by any sense of moral responsibility.[38]

A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.

Alone of human beings the good and wise mother stands on a plane of equal honor with the bravest soldier; for she has gladly gone down to the brink of the chasm of darkness to bring back the children in whose hands rests the future of the years.[39]

The one thing I want to leave my children is an honorable name.”[40]

It is better to be faithful than famous.
