Obama Can Learn About Leadership By Studying Palin's Tea Party Speech
OK, WE'RE RIGHT! ^ | February 6, 2010 | Oscar De Los Santos and Kelly L. Goodridge

Sarah Palin and Barack Hussein Obama have something in common: they both spoke before groups of their respective supporters today. There end the similarities. Obama sang the same old songs we’ve been hearing about fighting for us and not giving up on health care reform. Sarah Palin sounded more presidential than our nation’s president when she addressed a packed house at the first National Tea Party Convention tonight. She showed us why there’s real hope and change in America. Obama used those words to win the White House. Unfortunately, hope and change a la Obama are as valuable as confetti blowing through a wind machine. Palin delivers the real goods.

Palin said all that was expected tonight. In true Palin style, she wasn’t afraid to sound patriotic or religious. She said she was proud to be an American. She thanked God for the Tea Party folks. She slammed Washington for its lack of transparency and bloated government. She gave kudos to Ronald Reagan on what would’ve been his 99th birthday. She welcomed C-SPAN to the proceedings, reminding everyone that the network was blocked from covering most of Obama and the Dem’s health care reform meetings.

Significantly, Sarah gave heartfelt thanks to our military – the veterans in the audience and those fighting overseas, including her son.

Then things got really interesting: a good chunk of Palin’s speech focused on foreign policy. If anyone doubts this woman isn’t acting like a 2012 presidential candidate in the making, they need to watch her speech again. Palin chided Obama for trying to make friends with dictators the past year; for an endless string of apologies to those who hate America; for his administration’s handling Islamic terrorists with kid gloves and reading them their Miranda rights; for fudging language when we refer to acts of terrorism and claiming “the system worked” on Christmas day, even though one of our airliners was almost blown out of the sky.

Palin called for unity in the conservative party and the Tea Party movement. She channeled Ronald Reagan and reminded the packed Nashville house and the TV viewing audience that contra whatever we’ve heard from Obama, America’s best days aren’t over; our country is still “that shining city on a hill” that Reagan spoke of.

Country music has always been about down-home folks: their loves and troubles, tragedies and triumphs. Sarah Palin is a one-woman political tornado that swept through the heart of American country music tonight. She gave it to the Dems with the kind of snark that earned her the nickname Saracuda and few in the GOP camp have dared showcase. (Surely, “Don’t mess with Joe” Biden felt his ears burning as she was speaking.)

It would be a mistake to split her away from the GOP. To do so would split conservatives in half. OK suspects Palin knows that, which is why she called for unity of spirit and ideas for those who believe in America, the Constitution and true conservatism.

While having very different views they both know to target their speeches to their audiences. They both say what they knew the audience wants to hear.

Of course as a President Obama that is going down fast he is very frustrated with the American People that he thought finally “Got it” in 2008. Fun to watch him lecture everyone on not understanding.

Obama has never led anything of value in his life. He wouldn't know how to run a profitable hot dog stand.

Without his teleprompter & speeches that blame everyone else for his incompetance - the guy is nothing more than a community organizer who has no clue about what he's doing.

The world watches as he's tearing down our country piece by piece & wondering how long the Amercian people are going to put up with this.

Even Chrissie Matthews admits that Dem’s don’t seem to want or elect leaders. How can you authentically lead citizens you don’t understand of a country you don’t like while trying to push through with socialist plans that have to be hidden from most voters so you can get them passed through congress? My brain is spinning just thinking about all of this. Even the MSM can’t create a faux buildup of his leadership skills.

In business negotiations you always have to have walk away power or you have no ability to form the debate.

The Tea Party is just what the Doctor ordered, a party within the party, a threat to walk away without actually doing so. It is brilliant.
