Who’s Bill Cunningham?
Yeah, what the hell is going on here?!? Newt needs to go away.
And I am a little disappointed with Palin supporting McCain. Good grief. That’s strike one there, Sarah. Get back on track again, please.
The fight is on for the heart and soul of the Republican party. We have seen it in this forum recently with the McQueeg supporters going after JD Hayworth. Be vigilant.
That tells you all you need to know about some people’s feelings about Sarah Palin.....one wrong turn or disagreement is enough to turn up the whole cart. How many chances does Mitt or Pawlenty have? plenty I guess
This is getting ridiculous. I realize that some people have a problem with Sarah keeping her word and the deep respect she has for McCain. But to start calling her ‘less conservative than...’ is absolutely insulting. That really pisses me off. She is more conservative than just about all the pundits and politician out there. Even Malkin understands why Sarah is supporting McCain.
But it is also telling to see who is going after her. These would be the same people who would abandon her at the first hint of trouble. To hell with them.
Cunningham was talking about the 1994 Gingrich, who appeared to be a conservative back then.
I’m not seeing Palin in the FR popular keywords today.
While I like a few others more than Palin, I still like Palin very much, and would not judge her on whether she campaigns for McCain or not. She’s just being loyal to the presidential candidate she ran with.
The last time I saw “conservative” Newt, he was sitting on a bench with Nancy Pelosi pimping “global warming”.
IIRC, Cunningham was the guy that was MCing a McStain event
and was jumped on by McStain for including Obozos middle name “Hussein”. McStain told him, something like, “that is uncalled for”.
McStain needs to dry up and blow away.
Well, whoever he is, he’s right: Palin is a populist conservative who relies on her instincts, which have thus far always turned out to be right, and puts principle ahead of party. Gingrich is an intellectual conservative who thinks through issues and has mistakenly from time to time put party ahead of principle.
The movement needs both kinds, but Palin’s sort is better for the Oval Office.
And no, Newt should not go away. He should just consider a run for the Senate and stop thinking about running for President. (His sort is better in the Senate.)
I’ve been listening to WLW, and occasionally Bill Cunningham, since 1984. He’s a fake and a poser. It doesn’t matter if it’s his old evening show, his new afternoon show, or his weekend night show. He’s only their to be provocative, not to examine issues or promote conservative solutions.
I don’t think Sarah Palin is making a mistake associating with McCain. There is much that both can learn from each other. And I am hoping that Sarah can influence McCain that conservative principals are what this country needs.
And what was that about Occidental College releasing that, in application for a Fulbright Scholarship ( I don’t recall mention by anyone of this scholarship being applied for), Obama listed his citizenship as Indonesian and thus, having not re-patriated himself, is not eligible to be president???
Was Cunningham giving a ‘what if’? He followed with a point that if this was Bush in question the media would be making huge noise. Why was he wasting his time with this scenario if that is what it is?
He didn’t close the minute or so with a clear qualification that the release of this application was factual news or not. This should have been done so those listening lightly such as I who missed the initial sentence wouldn’t be confused, which is exactly what I am.
I’m doing a slow scramble. Podcast of 1st hr is online here, but I think we’re in 3rd hour:

The last time Newt was a good Conservative was about 15 years ago. He was bitten with the Washington DC bug shortly after and has played media populist ever since.
I agree. Sarah is not conservative like Mr. Newt.
But who the heck wants “conservatives” like him?
Go Sarah 2012, prexy or veep, go for it.
