Someone help me out here. Governor Palin, when she stepped down, said she would campaign on behalf of those who shared her common-sense conservative vision for America, regardless of political party.
So why is she campaigning on behalf of someone who is in their mid-70s, who has been in the Senate since the early 1980s, and who is arguably the most infamous turncoat Republican in the party's history?
I appreciate McCain's military service. I thank him for choosing Palin and putting her on the map, though she was already a popular figure and would have made it on her own regardless if she would have been chosen for VP or not. I admire, but dislike, McCain's anachronistic notion of those in government are supposed to quietly serve and at the end of the day be pals with one another. We voted for McCain because of Palin. But again, McCain is the most feckless, turncoat Republican I've ever seen.
Sarah's endorsement of McCain and subsequent campaigning for him simply doesn't make any sense. Ditto for Perry, who has been Governor already for 10 years. Why does he need to serve another term? For what? Does Palin realize that Republican incumbents are also targeted by the Tea Partiers too?
If Palin would have campaigned for McCain after he won the primary, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm sure McCain would still be better than the Dem running against him. But during the primary? Did Hayworth declare at all? Was he thinking of running and now will back out because of Palin's decision?
I will still support Palin but this is very, very discouraging.
she should be helping hayworth not that waste of time
Politically questionable yes, I suppose. But in terms of being a human being, it’s the right thing to do.
Very disturbing. It’s not like that jerk has exhibited any loyalty towards her.
Because she’s a RINO just like McCain?
Either that or there is a small shred of truth to the liberals’ suggestions that she is of tiny mental stature...just like McCain.
This is a game changer for me.
Hayworth hasn’t even announced he is running. Maybe she knows he’s not. I agree it was a HORRIBLE decision by her to say she is campaigning for McCain, I can’t stand the guy, but did you see him on Sean Hannity at the beginning of his show. He was actually ripping into Obama, for the first time, he actually sounded, sorta Conservative. When I saw that, I thought to myself “This is why she is endorsing him, she owns his ass now” she will make sure he is not the same John “You have nothing to fear of Obama, he will make a great President” McCain, at least I’m hoping so. Plus, if Hayworth doesn’t run, McCain has the election in the bag anyway
Just one problem.
McCain is a Democrat!
You and others seem to forget that McCain PICKED Palin as his VP candidate and put her on the map. How much name recognition did Palin have before and would have today, if McCain hadn’t picked her as his VP candidate?
Whatever we don’t like about McCain, and the list is long, he does deserve credit for having the courage to pick Palin for his VP candidate.
Given the above, Palin pretty much has no choice, but to campaign for McCain — she has honor and decency.
There has been a lot of debate on the subject today, but I have not heard a reasonable argument for it yet.
She is loyal. Loyal to who? McCain or us?
She has to work the system? The system isn't working.
I don't pretend to be an expert. Someone educate me....
McCain/Palin ping
LMAO, this is just getting ridiculous.
Was he thinking of running and now will back out because of Palin’s decision?
Yes he is/was. Time to pack Sarah off to AK where she can’t screw up AZ elections!! I don’t think Hayworth will take them on...this time. I sure don’t mind being wrong.
This infuriates me!!
I don’t know but it isn’t going to help her if she wants to run in the future. Maybe this is her way of saying she won’t run.
I like the woman a lot despite the fact she’ll support the idiot. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time someone I liked endorsed someone that turned my stomach.
Then why campaign for his sorry ass?
You're grasping.
Where is the link to the story? What are the facts?
I agree with you. Loyalty is a powerful trait in a person. I would think less of her if she didn’t campaign for McCain.
Yea, I dont like McCain but she has no choice here
Battered woman syndrome.
McCain? Pick Palin?
*snicker*
It's well-known that McCain wanted to pick the Rat LIE-berman.
I have been a bit skeptical about Palin. I like her OK, but I really haven’t seen much of her (and hearing about the “Bridge to Nowhere” didn’t help).
While everyone wants her to be a Reagan, I don’t think she actually is, any much more than most of our RINOs. Putting their pictures together doesn’t make it so.
She also might not be the brightest bulb - but is that really necessary? What IQ do we require? Obama may be smarter, but that doesn’t make him more “right” or wise. As long as she’s not painfully stupid, it really doesn’t matter much. (See Thomas Sowell for his opinion on intelligence and politicos.)
