Here's something for your Tax Day Tea Party. Steep this in Hot Water for awhile.

Congress, you're fired.

Even the ones who voted against healthcare and bailouts? Wow, way to throw an infantile tantrum.

“The partisan politics of these two political bodies have come recently under fire by both sides”

Uh,....... it’s only partisan when you don’t agree with a liberal.

Excellent!

It is time for "We, the People" to rediscover the ideas of America's Founders--people who were wise and passionate about liberty!

It was the Founders' genius in devising and structuring a constitutional form of self-government that made America prosperous and a beacon for liberty in the world.

As Benjamin responded upon exiting Constitution Hall, the Framers of our "system of government" left us, "A Republic, if you can keep it."

Although others of his day, including John Quincy Adams, referred to it as a "democratic Republic," none ever called it a "democracy," as to form. As a matter of fact, the Founders explained in their writings how they rejected a purely democratic form of government, in favor of self-government by "the People" themselves, through free and frequent elections of representatives who would be accountable to them.

The Founders' written Constitution, structuring "self-government" for a free people, set up a representative form of government for a reason. According to Jefferson, it was intended to "lace them up straitly within the enumerated powers. . . ," or to "bind them down by the chains of the Constitution."

What we need today is a revival of the Founders' ideas of liberty. We do not need, as Ferrarro puts it, "fundamental reform of our system of government." We need a rediscovery of the ideas underlying our form of government and a return by "We, the People" to demanding that the people we elect to positions of power in Washington are limited by the "enumerated powers" and the "chains of the Constitution."

The constitutional mechanisms are in place, left there by the Framers, but "We, the People's" ignorance of its provisions, and failure to hold our representatives accountable is the problem which needs attention. For instance, no Constitutional amendment by the method prescribed in Article V of the Constitution has been enacted to expand the taxing and spending powers under the so-called "General Welfare" Clause. If the people today understood what the founding generations understood, they would rise up and bring their representatives home, replacing them with individuals who would adhere to the Constitution's strict limits on power.

What we need is not a reform of our "system of government," but a revolutionary revival of the ideas of liberty already incorporated into our documents of freedom--the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

So-called "conservatives" who love liberty and can do so should use web sites and whatever means they have at hand to spark the minds and hearts of citizens by educating them in those ideas. See

I’m with you. Even the so-called “good ones” have, for the most part, been there far longer than they should be. Career politicians are bad for any government. While we’re at it, congressional staffs need to be cut to no more than 5, maybe 3. If something they’re doing needs more than that, they shouldn’t be doing it. And, those staffs are tied to the representative, not the office.

I agree. If we the people don’t send a message quickly that the elected officials are not a “ruling class” unto themselves, then their actions in office will only become more and more like those of a ruling class. Time to throw all the bums out and do a better job of electing those that will listen to their constituients under fear of being tossed out.

Many conservatives live in districts with right-thinking representatives and Senators (personally, I have Michael McCaul, Cornyn and Hutchinson ... not thrilled with Hutchinson on the cloture vote, but the other two are fine).

Having conservatives target conservatives is a recipe for losing the few districts we hold right now (and possibly getting a bigger Democrat majority). Target Democrats and RINOS ... the ones responsible for the bill. Targeting the good guys is a lousy idea.

Throwing all of Congress out is greatly overreaching, but I understand your feelings about it. There are a handful of decent, conservative politicians that I don’t want removed from Congress.

Fire them ALL.

Hey Rick,

Your "fire them all" strategy is stupid.
