Gitmo Detainees Come To Illinois: Quad Cities Nuclear Power Plant 20 Miles Away, Oops!
RFFM.org ^ | Dec. 26, 2009 | Daniel T. Zanoza

Here is a bright idea. Take a gaggle of the most dangerous terrorists in the world, move them from a very secure holding facility in Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo) and transfer them to a prison in a sleepy little Illinois town. This is the brilliant plan of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Currently, a board is meeting to put its stamp of approval regarding the transfer of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), the admitted mastermind of 9/11, and a number of other Gitmo detainees to the Thomson Correctional Facility in Thomson, Illinois. The Mayor of this sleepy little hamlet is all a flutter. "It'll bring thousands of jobs to the area," said Mayor Jerry Hebeler. What Hebeler failed to address is the fact KSM and his band of killers will attract like-minded individuals to his sleepy little town, nestled away in northwestern Illinois.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn reportedly will have the final say on whether the transfer will take place. But let's say the move is a fait accompli. U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and every other Democrat in Illinois have fallen all over themselves touting how the new high security federal facility will make Illinois a better place to live.

I don't know who originally came up with the bright idea concerning the Gitmo transfer to Illinois, but ...

Nuclear plants are well-defended and harder to destroy than people think. They aren’t like the Death Star with a vulnerable “insert bomb here to blow up the whole thing” vent.

I’m more concerned with schools, malls, hospitals, and churches being accessible to these animals.

Illinois didn’t get the Olympics, but they get the terrorists. It’s a win-win.

Expect Quinn to approve given he’s a patsy, an idiot and a political hack. Requirements to be the governor of Illinois (either party), for the most part (Edgar and Ogilvie excluded), for the past 50 years.......

They’re stupid, they don’t give a rip or they’re in denial.

It’s a horrible idea anyway, but made worse with this revelation.

I live in the Quad Cities and we also have this little project known as the Rock Island Arsenal. A lot of stuff goes in and out of there relating to our efforts in the Middle East.

No. We’re all vulnerable because we can’t profile, or even act concerned when we see a suspicious person of color. Even after they attack, our government will bend over backwards to convince us that nothing happened.

A scary middle-eastern man walks into a mall or restaurant wearing a heavy coat and we can’t do anything until he screams “Allah ackbar!” and then it’s just too late.

Who would want to be out on the streets of Chicago when it is one of the most violent cities in the US. In fact being in prison might actually be safer. Now how is that for irony.
