Thanks for some fun in a touchy world...
annieup,
“welcome” to FR - hope you have thicker skin than this half-@$$ed opus suggests, or your stay will be brief and unpleasant
Verbal decapitation of TROLLZ is considered sport around here!

In before the ZOT!
and in before Resty, “Mormon Dupe”, & Co. proxy “BABTIZE” Charles Taze Russell, burn all the miracle wheat, and issue some new bank notes...
A.A.C.
Ah, the inevitable—and inevitably amusing—sock post. :-)
Merry Christmas, FRiend.
LOL...
Sounds fun.
Goodnight.
It means it’s violative of the language’s rules of combining phonemes (letter sounds), even though its humanly possible to pronounce... Again, please actually read the part about “brd.” Are any of your Hebrew “experts” actually Hebrews? Do any of them actually *speak* Hebrew conversationally?
Hey, Resty! Come and play!
My experiences with JW is they are quite odd.
Very very hard on a child raised in that “faith”.
Catholics and Jews do guilt....or at least they used to
Protestants do shame.
catholics and jews are a lot alike...and they vote a bit alike too
(I know...Jews vote about 25% more left)
Nope. I didn’t lose a Guiness but it was kind of you to ask!
Who, besides yourself, says they are not as in the Tetragrammaton?
Yes, I read “bird, brd” comments and see no revlevance to the vowel pointing of the Tetragrammaton, transliterated as YHWH, and which is usually read as Yahweh.
Whether Ginsburg was converstional in Hebrew I don't know but I dare say he more than qualifies as an expert.
You mention the name “nethanyahu”, This is from Strong’s Dictionary:
“Nthanyah
neth-an-yaw’
or Nthanyahuw {neth-an-yaw’-hoo}; from ‘nathan’ (5414) and ‘Yahh’ (3050); given of Jah; Nethanjah, the name of four Israelites:—Nethaniah.”
One can see that the name does not include Hebrew for “God” but rather the shortened name form, Yah (iah) or Jah.
I don’t know where everyone is getting their information but the Witness’s do not believe Jesus is God.
In my early twenties, I had Bible studies with them, which I am thankful for, because they taught me how to read my Bible and not be intimidated by it.
I still have my New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures Bible, which makes Bible reading and understanding much easier.
In the back there is “Bible Topics For Discussion”, which lists 44 words, i.e. Jesus, Interfaith, Last Days, Life, etc and gives The Books, chapters and versus on where these words are discussed.
After reading the 1st 200 comments, I opened my Bible and took a look. Under Jesus, the 1st line states....
Jesus is God’s Son and appointed King.
Never at ANY time did I EVER hear anyone state Jesus is God.
And in regards to predicting the worlds end.....my Bible studies with them made it crystal clear that NO ONE knows the exact time.
During my Bible studies, I learned to take the Bible literally, which I still do. I do not believe they are “just stories” made up to “guide us”.
As to their witnessing door to door, they use the following guidelines....
Mt 10:32, Jas 1:22-24 & 2:24, Mt 28:19&20, Ro 10:10, Mt 24:14&34, Jer 25:3, Ac 4:18-20 & 5:25-29, Eze 33:7-9, & 3:18-19, Ac 20:26-27, 1Co 9:16, 1Ti 4:16, 1Co 9:22, MT 24:14.
They believe all Christians must witness and tell the good news...Mt 10:32 “Everyone, then, that confesses union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens.”....Just like Jesus went door to door (well, town to town)witnessing, they believe they are following in His footsteps.
Who else sets themselves up for ridicule before men in Jesus’ name?
Yes please do take it up with your preacher (should you have one).
Wow—IBTZ still? The mods are feeling the X-Mas spirit! And I even have a gift for you!
