From your tone it appears you would not have minded if the Father of our Constitution and President was captured by the British Army.

What I mean is that by the time Jackson became president, "sectionalism" had begun to infect the system in a way that would lead the nation into civil war. Basically, by the time our 7th president took office, it was becoming obvious that Madison was dead wrong when he said:

"Hence, it clearly appears, that the same advantage which a republic has over a democracy, in controlling the effects of faction, is enjoyed by a large over a small republic, -- is enjoyed by the Union over the States composing it. ...The influence of factious leaders may kindle a flame within their particular States, but will be unable to spread a general conflagration through the other States."

That's why I call the Federalist Papers a monument to error. Almost nothing in them turned out to be true. The closest thing to the truth in the Federalist Papers came from Hamilton, because he was much more open and clear about what he wanted--a strong national government, the obliteration of states' rights--and he understood that the Constitution would deliver on his wishes. Madison seemingly lived in a dream world.

Sectional and state rivalries were a natural outgrowth of the widely varying origins of the colonies themselves.

The Federalist Papers are a monument to the defense of the greatest system of government man ever created.

It is you who lives in a dream world.

You're deluding yourself if you believe that.
There are many parallels between Sarah and Reagan;if the similarities weren't so apparent, why would people (even those who don't think she's the neatest thing since pockets, which,by the way,she is)point it out?
Do you see any other candidate, potential or otherwise, who has the same ideology, the same strength of character, the same love of country that Reagan had? Anyone even close? No...because Sarah's the one. That's why there's so much discussion and comparison to Reagan.
She's been thoroughly vetted,by the press,by her detractors,by the lamestream idiots who like to crack sleazoid jokes, make lewd comments about her and tell lie after lie after lie about her and her family....and still she shines like a new dime.
If you can't handle it ,too bad. The ones who will be celebrating her at her Inauguration will be laughing, and the only votes being drawn away will be from Mitt and Huckabee. Na-na,hey-hey,kiss them goodbye!

It makes me laugh and cringe all at the same time.

What makes me laugh and cringe all at the same time is how these Huckabee/Romney/Ron Paul supporters are so intimidated by her. They know she can do the job, she's got the right stuff, and it scares them to death.
They know their guy's got nothin',and they can't stand that.
Like the left, they are confused at how clean she is,how good she is and no matter how much digging they do,no matter how much game they bring to try and bring her down, nothing's working.
She is a force that is alien to them, and to beat it all...she's a WOMAN!
I for one am loving it.

Good God man, should we just anoint her as quickly as the leftists anointed this dud in the White House now?

You sound like some of the Dems I knew back in early 2008. Nobody can say anything about nor question her

To even compare her to Ronald Reagan at this point is a significant insult to President Reagan. Sarah has a very long way to go before she can be in that conversation

Amazing and sad, isn’t it? Wishful thinking.

Michael Reagan disagrees with you.

Good God man
I'm not a man.

Please!! must you be so vile in your name-calling?

compare her to Ronald Reagan
I compare her love of country, her moral compass and her strength of character to that of Ronald Reagan's.If that gets your panties in a wad, tough.
Doesn't change a thing.
I sincerely trust that Ronnie is smiling down on her from above as we speak. I call it being a staunch conservative. You call it what you want but it is what it is.
