Emerson Electric: No thanks, Obama, we're leaving.

This hurts: The federal government is "doing everything in [its] manpower [and] capability to destroy U.S. manufacturing," says David Farr, chairman and CEO of Emerson Electric Co.

Farr added that companies will continue adding jobs in China and India because they are "places where people want the products and where the governments welcome you to actually do something.

I am not going to hire anybody in the United States. I'm moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs."

the only way to avoid paying these scum bags would be to become a criminal (grrr)

Actually they use Finacial Advisors and others (which they gladly pay) to help them. Never underestimate those smart enough to handle money, there are ways.

They are purposely doing this to destroy our country completely. China will own us very soon folks. Why our own military has not removed him from office along with a few other in congress is beyond me. We as a nation are finished.

Whoa! Where did you get the idea I'm insulting our military?

Let me make this perfectly clear: I'm defending them. It makes me sick that corporate pukes like Farr will sit back and let Americans fight and die to protect a way of life he doesn't think they're worthy of when they come back home. He should take himself overseas with his jobs and let the Chinese or Indians spill their blood to protect his sorry ass. Over and out.

When Third World nations famous for poverty, Communism, socialism, and stifling government bureaucracies are more attractive to American companies than America, you know we've gone seriously off the tracks.

DUH!!!! Everyone gets this. The Obama Administration knows this. They do not care. Their agenda has NOTHING to do with a free country as described in the Constitution.

“It was time” for a black President, so skin color trumped any fact-checking (ironically) or even reason, and we got pwned.

“Don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.”

You dope. You miss the whole point. The USA should be a place where want to be businesses to be located because it makes financial sense. When it doens’t make financial sense because of excess taxes and regulation, business leave. Patriotism isn't a reason to keep a business in a country that isn't business, or success friendly.

If you move to another country, you can “keep” your salary under the limit and not pay US taxes. It’s easy. Your employer “over there” can aid with your expenses, etc... It’s done ALL the TIME.

There’s always the military.

The days of the military signing up anyone who waltzes into a recruiting office wanting a guaranteed job are over.

Yep!

I’m looking for the Powerpoint presentation at Emerson’s website that was alluded to in the link... and I’m not finding it. Anyone find it? Please post a link.

"...corporate pukes..."

Just because a company refuses to knuck under to your socialist butt-buddy, it doesn't make them less than worthy!

They are being driven out of this country by your boy "Ears" and his socialist compadres. I don't blame them one bit. They were betrayed by American voters, apparently like you.

Ask any business owner who their biggest adversary is and they won’t say any of their competitors, it’s governments at all levels. When the feds, states and locals keep coming back to rape businesses, they reach a breaking point and make decisions to keep their businesses solvent. Emerson isn’t doing anything that other businesses have been doing for 25 years. If this country is ever run by pro business government again, we might regain our competitive edge, but this crowd in dc and state capitals look at businesses as cash cows for them to take their funds.

You ass deserves a swift kick.

You attack a man who has the guts to speak the truth about why jobs are leaving this country and you attack him?!

Get your head screwed on right and realize who the real enemy is.

dude, where do you get off?

corporate pukes? you mean capitalists, employers, industrialists, the people who made this country great?

the 'American Way' that made us who we are is gone and Farr sees that. it's not his fault. smart businesses follow the money. it would be very easy to bring the jobs back here. but the unions/politicians are too stupid. or treasonous. haven't decided which yet.

“He is taking my grandson's job”

I am sorry your grandson is losing his employment, but it is not HIS job. It is Emerson's job. They were paying your Grandson to to do that job. But it is theirs to extend or withdraw it. Now they have decided it is too expensive to keep that job and the others in this country.
As Limbaugh has said many times, a corporation does not exist to provide jobs or taxes. A corporation exists to provide profits to the owners. Sole proprietorship or corporation the concept is the same. No profit, no job and the CEO’s job is to make the company profitable. Simple concept.

a “lack of U.S. $ support” for manufacturing.”

Yeah, apparently not enough subsidies to go around.

This company has been investing billions and cutting jobs here in the US over the last 10 years offshoring to LOW WAGE COUNTRIES.

“I am not going to hire anybody in the United States. I’m moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs.”

David Farr et.al, should follow their money and their jobs to Beijing or Brasília, where ever, and get the F***** out.

Patriotism isn’t only for our warriors. He should stay and fight. And if the American way is gone, then somebody please tell our men and women in uniform so they can get the hell out of harm’s way.

when politicians rule business thru taxes, salary control, regulations, etc... then the responsibility falls off the businesses to 'stay and fight.' it's an impossible battle.

our armed forces follow lawful orders. businesses have the choice to stay here and get beaten down by gov't regulation or pick up and move and run their business as they see fit.
