Hampton University in Virginia made a huge mistake. They took Barack Obama's post racial world idea and, thinking it was already here, anointed a white chick as its "Miss Hampton University" pageant winner. Now some of the black students are mad that the traditionally black university named a white girl as "Miss Hampton U."
Ooopsie.
I guess we aren't in that era of Obama like we thought we were. I guess we aren't quite done with all that racial strife that we keep hearing about on the news, eh? I hate it when the man... er, the bro... is always keeping the white chicks down! Can't we just get along?
On a serious note, I think we should demand that the heartless, racist students of Hampton University be forced to endure "diversity training" or face expulsion. This sort of hate should be excoriated. And now that Congress has made such hate crimes even more hatey than before thanks to its new hate crimes legislation, I certainly expect some of these racist students, these hatemongers at Hampton U, to go to jail.
Why's it gotta be like that, man?

Has this been reported to the NAACP? Has it been reported on the Black Entertainment Television Network? What does the Congressional Black Caucus say about it? What about the Black Chamber of Commerce? The Black Students Association? The all Black fraternities and sororities?

Heck, people at Morehouse in Atlanta were mad when a white guy was valedictorian.

I dunno, I stayed at a hotel (national chain, forget which one) in Hampton on more than one ocassion and shopped at the Wahlgreen’s in town. I was the only white shopper in the store and didn’t feel in the least bit threatened or uncomfortable. Unlike, say, Newport News or parts of Norfolk. Hampton is a really kewl place, sort of a university town with a black university, but the kids seemed nice to me. I don’t know what the crime rate is like, but it sure seemed pleasant enough to me.
Miss Hampton U looks like a drag queen. We may have a protected class here after all, folks.
And to think that my brother-in-law recently mentioned to me about seeking a teaching position at Hampton U......ugh.
Hmm. How would you even describe that? Black-Gay-Man-Trapped-In-White-Female-Body? Actually, she’s not bad looking. Typical beauty-Prom queen type with too much make-up.
Look into it. Historically Black schools can be more conservative than you think. Yes, there’s always the campus radicals, but for the most part, HBCU went through a phase in the 80’s where they STOPPED tolerating low-class behaviour and tried to reinstate the academic and cultural standards of old. Success may vary from campus to campus.
The real third rail racially speaking in this country is how black women feel about white women. Michelle Mabelle is a splendid case in point. We have tapes of the outgoing White House Cook talking about how Michelle told her husband to “not kiss the white women”. We have the “glare”. This is the “discussion on race” that no-bod-eee wants to have.
