Thanks for the post. I've never heard of Orff till now. I see I have some research to do!

Orff hails from the same Bavarian region in which my maternal grandfather was born.

Grandpa was a baker, not a musician, but he loved to LOUDLY sing the German Lutheran hymns in church, albeit off-key. We all cringed during the hymns.

In our family, we inherited the German love for classical music. Also, sometimes with unfortunate results, we inherited the German love of bakery.....rich pastries und koffee kuchens of all kinds!

From the Irish side of our family, we inherited our love of politics, lively Irish airs and, of course, humor laced with the gift of blarney!
