Well, since you already have your tinfoil hat on: it seems pretty clear that, in addition to the crescent, the number they chose to display is clearly intended to communicate “Allah Bless Carolina.”

Evening sky, waxing or waning moon.

I’ve never cared for the South Carolina sunset tag.
That’s more suitable for a western state like Arizona or Nevada.
Now an S.C. tag depicting sunrise along the beautiful Carolina coast? That would be awesome!

1) LOL!
2) Palmetto and Crescent are the symbols of the South Carolina flag, the crescent going back to the War of Independence and also featured on the Confederate flag.

3)Even if this were a Muslim thingie... they can have license plates as they please to the same extent as anyone else. Putting their symbols on their plates is not any different from Christian or other messages, symbols on plates. But that’s obviously not even the case here.
4)Have you even bothered checking the South Carolina flag?

That symbol was chosen following a Statewide poll of most common symbol found throughout South Carolina.

That crescent moon is on the Ft Moultrie Flag.
In 1775, Col. William Moultrie designed a flag for his South Carolina militia. It was a blue flag that matched the color of his troops uniforms and a crescent that reproduced the silver emblem worn on the front of their caps.
"LIBERTY" represents the SC colonial troops' defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island against the British on June 28, 1776.

The South Carolina slogan is Dum Spiro, Spero which means While I breathe, I hope. I think it has something to do with the aspirations of the SC Gamecocks winning a national championship.

Oh my. LOL. You'll have to read up on the Moultrie flag. I don't like the colors on the new plates. I choose to stick with this design.

This is a gorget, silver military uniform insignia, dating back to 1776, not a crescent moon, nothing to do with Islam!
