OK. I have to share my little “moment.”
I just concluded a telephone interview about a job. It’s for placement within one of the very many industries that, shall we say, are more liberal than conservative.
Well, the headhunter looked at my resume, and stated that a former job I had had must have been at a pretty Republican place, a pretty conservative place, and that this new position was at a place that, well everybody there is progressive. Everybody there would probably be pretty liberal.
So, like a jerk, I don’t say anything other than well...you know not everybody was a conservative, rank and file crossed all lines, blah, blah, blah.
So she said, well, it’s not like it’s a litmus test, but.
I got off the phone and saw red. I picked the phone back up and called and said, look, you are pretty powerful in your field, and I don’t care. I am withdrawing my name immediately. The questions you asked, the things you said, and the insinuations you made were totally wrong and unprofessional.
I noted the left is so loud in their fear of the so called “mob” but it is really them who have the mob mentality and that her line of questioning spoke volumes to the kind of McCrarthyism that infects so many areas of public and private life today.
She stuttered and stammered, but I continued to hammer her hard and then said, Good Day.
Unreal. What a Barbra Streisand.

Good for you. It must have been a hard thing to do (job wise) but they need to be told they are out of line.

The field that I am in, and the place where I work is decidedly liberal. I am outnumbered 10:1.
I am also winning them over one at a time ;’}
I hope you called her boss and told her how her political views were now going to cost their company money.
Also I’d suggest taht you mention to them that you’re planning to tell the companies in your feild that this company was NOT providing them with the best folk’s for the job and they shouldnt use their services anymore.
Hit them in the pocket book!

The questions you were asked were not only non-professional but not legal. File a complaint with your state Attorney General’s office. Immediately.

I am not one to sue, but...
There are things that can be discussed, and things not to discuss.
You can get fired on a job because of politics. This just saved you a Resume FUBAR.
The head hunter now has racing stripes in her undees because you just cost her a big commission check.
Feel good, you were obviously the best candidate.
