The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.

Southern Poverty Law Center. Hmmmmm. Could this be an organization primarily concerned with issues for black people? More motivation for our primarily black presidential administration to take more control of this dangerous situation? I haven't seen any articles in the liberal media questioning the strong arm tactics of ACORN and SEIU. Must be just be non-union white folks that are a danger to our republic.

SPLC has gone WAAAAAY beyond advocating for black people. They are ope borders advocates and have been behind a number of court cases attempting to give illegal aliens the same political rights that U.S. citizens enjoy.

In 1992, SPLC asserted that some 346 white-supremacist organizations were operating in the United States. Even leftist journalist Alexander Cockburn accused SPLC's Morris Dees of raising funds by "frightening elderly liberals that the heirs of Adolf Hitler are about to march down Main Street.

I could go on and on, but it's like Al Sharpton writ large, and interested in reestablishing Atzlan.

§ 311. Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

I hope militia groups are on the rise. More power to them. I'd rather have militia members in my neighborhood than ACORN thugs or other 0bama supporters. At least the militia guys don't pose a threat to their neighbors.
