Conservative commentators, leaders and thinkers have a responsibility to denounce idiocy put forward under the conservative banner. Republicans and conservatives have a real opportunity to take back the country in 2010 and 2012. But they aren’t going to do it by promoting outlandish conspiracies.

1. COLBs in Hawaii can be issued for infants not born on the Islands.
2. The State of Hawaii releases lists of newly issued COLBs to local newspapers.
Therefore, publication of COLB information in a local Hawaiian newspaper is not evidence of having been born on the Islands.
Many here are simply asking Obama to adhere to his own policy....transparency.
If Obama releases his original long form with the other documentation, and their is nothing unusual, then yes, I would eat crow. I would also thank the President for practicing what he preaches.
I've learned that you will achieve nothing by continuously being afraid of what your opposition will say about you. Republican candidates with this fear do not win Presidential elections.

if they won’t take my word that i am not carrying anything harmful and/or won’t do anything harmful during a flight... to the extent of requiring not only my ID but also submitting me to metal detectors and pat down searches....
why should i take a politicians word that he is eligible to assume power?
i’m not asking for dna and psych screenings (although that would be awesome).... i’m just asking for a birth certificate. and this supposedly makes me some nutjob? screw you, shut up, and give us the freaking documentation. it’s the least they can do considering how much money we pay in taxes

Like I said, birth announcements posted in a news paper are legally useless for verifying the NATURAL BORN citizen status of anyone. The ONLY thing that will suffice to settle the entire issue is a legal, notarized $10 (TEN DOLLAR!) copy of Obama's ORIGINAL LONG-FORM birth certificate. You know the ONE DOCUMENT Obamessiah has spent over a MILLION dollars (and counting) in legal fees in order to prevent it from ever seeing the light of day! No one does this unless they have something VERY BIG TO HIDE FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
You want us to sit down, shut up and go away? Then show us a legal, notarized copy of his $10 original long-form birth certificate, that is all you or anyone needs to do. Now isn't that easy? For any normal sane individual with nothing to hide it would be, but NOT for Obamessiah.

How dare you ask such complicated questions of our “dear leader” and his minions?
I happen to think that the circumstances surrounding Obama's birth certificate and much else about his life's work (sic) is mysterious, at best.
I also think this issue is an enormous waste of time and effort for us, given the fact that we have at present no conservative leadership and our issues are badly muddled (thank you, Juan McPain). The birth certificate issue is not a winning one for conservatives, nor will it ever be. It allows our adversaries to define us in a very bad way, and like it or not: they control the media.
I have another suspicion, too, based in part on my study of radical activist tactics. What if the COLB issue were the result of a disinformation scheme, run from within the White House (Axelrod/Emmanuel)? What if they wished to make it appear as if they were hiding something, in order to lead us on a wild goose chase (i.e. to distract us and make us look foolish) while they ram through unprecedented socialist legislation at will? Is that so hard to imagine, or am I now the one being paranoid?
Just food for thought. Either way, we need to get past this and back to far more pressing matters - finding new leadership, defining our purposes and beliefs, and fighting back against the expansion of government power and the concomitant loss of our individual liberties.
I haven’t been able to find a copy of Maya Obama’s COLB. Is it out there?

But, for all practical purposes, he has provided a COLB. Its just that isn’t enough for a lot of people. He has proven his birth in Hawaii.
Simply raising questions about that document does not equate to proof or evidence. They are simply questions.
He has presented affidavits from Hawaiian officials. That constitutes evidence.
