To be open and honest, last summer I wasn't sure that Barack H. Obama was born in the United States, I felt that then candidate Obama was perpetuating the controversy by not telling Hawaii to show everyone their official birth certificate. A lot has happened since then, including Hawaii releasing the COLB, not the long form original birth certificate because that is against Hawaii law but a COLB never the less...Here's the point, besides the fact that Obama has proven to be American born many times over, if I was President Obama and there was no birther movement, I would invent one. It destroys the credibility of anyone who talks about it. To moderates and many conservatives, the birther movement is the Republican equivalent of those calling the 2000 election stolen years after the election was over--either way its a bit crazy.
Most importantly, it takes attention from the real arguments, Cap and Trade, Socialized Medicine, etc. For those of you who don't believe that Obama is American born, look at it this way, you are not going to win. Just like the lugnuts who were counting chads in 2002 weren't going to win. Besides if the whole Obama not being an American thing was true, Joe Biden would have slipped it out months ago.
Listen,I understand your love of the constitution, but the our founding fathers would be much better served by fighting for the Second Amendment. The only one served by the Birther movement is Barack Hussein Obama, because it gives him and his cronies the opportunity to dismiss the entire lot of us.

What you are asking us, dear madam, is to ignore the rule of law. To ignore the Constitution. A law has been broken, it is being covered up, and the fraud perpetuated. I admit I had my doubts in this story at the beginning, but I am thoroughly perplexed that the Usurper continues to SEAL his original BC. Why on earth would he have released the COLB, laser printed and stamped in 2007, when he could have easily released his original long BC instead?

You tell us to “move on”? What if your house was robbed, or your family was harmed....and the police were to tell you.... “you know, it’s in the past, there are many more important things to worry about, how about you let it go?”.

It is very obvious that Obama is not natural-born. All this issue needed to be settled was a copy of his birth-certificate. He refuses to produce, and keeps other records sealed.
Personally....if people on here are so bothered by finding out whether the President is legitimately entitled to stay in power....you are not conservative in the first place. Move on...

He knew a year ago in the summer of 2008 that he needed to create a fake COLB and then spend some $800k defending having to release a certified CB.
All this so when he became President (which he knew would happen) and he tried to get Cap and Trade, Socialized Medicine and any other Socialized Bills passed, attention would be deflected to following a fake COLB. And then he would produce the real BC and say gotcha!

I suppose...to answer your hypothetical, I would hope that the majority of people in doubt would accept it as truth and move on to higher priorities. Who knows though...it’s hard to kill off a good conspiracy.

So let’s put an end to this lunacy by having Obama release the long form of his birth certicate and be done with it. Why is Obama spending hundreds of thousands of dollars blocking its release? Why can members of the Hawaiian government view it and the American people can’t?
Let’s play this one out - say it comes out tomorrow that he is a Kenyan (and all evidence points to this). Is the election undone? Or is he not permitted to be sworn in and serve and therefore we have President Biden??
Many (not so much on FR but on talk tv and radio and print media) who claim to be on the right say that it is wrong wrong wrong to call Obama’s policies “socialist”. They consider it a loaded word. But it isn’t the flip of libs calling Republicans “fascists”.
So the base being told by talking heads and moderate politicians what can be talked about is puzzling.
What next? No discussion of illegal immigration?
Michael Medved threw his hands up on the birth certificate by the time of Obama’s election (paraphrase) “if it WERE true, what are you going to do now? take him out of office?” And now with all of the legislation and executive orders signed and “treaty” with Russia (which did not get 2/3rds congressional approval), “what then”. We’d have a constitutional crisis to untangle the mess.
So some would like to bury their heads in the sand rather than even consider it. Same with treating this as the Democrat party of Jefferson rather than FDR, LBJ, Carter, Ayers, and Obama.

According to an AP story, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Health Director with the Hawaii State Department of Health, has issued a new statement seeking to “stem a recent surge in the number of inquiries about Obama’s birthplace.” “I…have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen….I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issue in October 2008, over eight months ago.” AP asserts that “Fukino issued a similar press release Oct. 31.” However, in his statement in October Fukino said “I…have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.” The original statement said nothing about the content of the birth record. The new statement therefore goes significantly farther than the original statement in October, though both the AP story and Fukino himself give the deceptive impression that it does not. Given this evident obfuscation, why should I or anyone else simply take Fukino’s words at face value?
His new and more substantive statement comes in the context of passage by the US Congress of a unanimous resolution commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Hawaii’s admission as a state of the United States which declares “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961….” Sadly, this Congressional action only serves as further proof that all the members of Congress from both parties now irresponsibility vote to affirm what they have never read.
This flurry of activity is meant to distract public attention from the palpable contradictions that have emerged in the cover story the Obama faction has used on account of his unwillingness to produce a birth record that actually contains the information needed to lay the controversy to rest. Until recently no one in the manipulated media has been willing to address this failure factually. Despite this repression, more and more people have become aware of the fact that the “certification of live birth” published on the internet during the Presidential campaign last fall did not establish Obama’s eligibility for two reasons: a) such certifications were issued at the time to people not born on US soil. Therefore, the published document did nothing to overcome the objection (raised because of the testimony of Obama’s African relatives) that he was born in Kenya at a time when his mother, who was married to a foreign national, was not of age to transmit US citizenship; and b) the internet published certification contained no details as to the hospital at which the birth took place, or the doctor who delivered the child, details that could be used to establish what must otherwise be treated as uncorroborated testimony.
Given the lack of such details, the fact that at various times the media and elements of the Obama faction made conflicting statements about the hospital of his birth (was it Queens Medical Center, or Kapiolani?), further aggravated the need to substantiate the true facts.
Then Lou Dobbs acknowledged on his CNN program that there is a factual doubt about Obama’s birth that has not been addressed. In response CNN president Jon Klein reportedly claimed in an e-mail that “CNN researchers found Hawaiian records were discarded in 2001 when the state’s records system went electronic. Therefore, Klein said, Obama’s original long-form birth certificate no longer exists. A computer generated abbreviated version that has been promoted on the Internet is the official record.”
But Hawaiian officials rebutted this story. “I am not aware of any birth certificate records that have been destroyed by the department,” Janice Okubo, public information officer for the Hawaii DOH, told WND. “When the department went electronic in 2001, vital records, whether in paper form or any other form, [were] maintained. We don’t destroy records….Any records we had in paper or any other form before 2001 are still in file within the department,” she insisted. “We have not destroyed any vital records that we have.”
This Hawaii official flatly declared that the Obama’s actual long-form birth certificate is in the possession of the State of Hawaii. Hawaii Health Director Fukino now belatedly declares that it contains the information needed to lay the eligibility question to rest once and for all. The AP story now disingenuously admits that the Constitution’s eligibility provisions are “a key constitutional requirement for being president.” So with respect to this key requirement, why are the American people being asked to accept less than the best evidence available? All along people like me have simply asked that the facts be fairly proven so as to preserve the integrity of the Constitution’s authority. In this regard the issue is not whether Obama remains in office or is declared ineligible to serve, but whether the issue is resolved in accordance with the Constitution’s provisions.
Sadly, pundits like Ann Coulter have unfairly characterized this simple concern for Constitutional integrity as some kind of “conspiracy theory.” Actually, it’s just a refusal to declare a fact not in evidence. There was a time when good journalists, like good lawyers, refused to be manipulated into doing so. A fair and proper hearing requires that evidence be produced and subjected to careful examination (by experts if need be.) It requires that witness be confronted and cross examined. Though the issue of Obama’s eligibility for the Presidency involves the integrity of the Supreme law of the land (not to mention the right to occupy the key governmental office it establishes), there has been no such fair and proper hearing to ascertain the facts and make clear the principles on which it can be decided. This failure is not so much a conspiracy as a massive dereliction of duty on the part of officials oath bound to preserve the Constitution of the United States. How can we be satisfied until such a hearing takes place, openly televised, with both sides to the controversy fairly represented and fairly treated? Only then will the American people have reason to be confident that the conclusion reached is based on carefully gathering and fairly examining all the available evidence.
Such a hearing would exemplify the solemn respect we ought to have for our Constitution. It would therefore serve the common good of our nation. But it would not serve the unbounded ambition of the Obama faction, or comfort the reprehensible cowardice of their supposed opponents. If we wait upon them to serve fairness, truth and constitutional integrity, we may as well whistle for a wind.
Who said it was "Republican"? The Media? The author's poll? Neither my wife nor I are "Republican" yet we follow it because Barack Obama, but more importantly his world backers, are total Leftists (conniving).
Is there some kind of presumptuous bigotry going on here in the Media? Do they embrace Leftism, when it is historically clear that societies which rely on individual responsibility (conservative) are the ones that prosper?
Actually as a (previously) registered Dem wife thinks just the opposite of the article; that is, that the issue has exposed the hidden bigotry of the conspirators, CNN, incumbent politicians, NYT, etc.
Clearly they are hiding something. Barack Obama is the front end of a deeper globalist "movement" (like maybe conspiracy) that wants to retract the raison d'etaire of the US and bring it into a global socialist miasma.

And an end run around the Constitution just sets a precedent that makes it all the easier. No, there is mass bigotry (emotional partisanship), from guilt, fear, or whatever, but it is on the Obama side.
Incidentally is there anyone out there who understands that the US Constitution gives no power whatsoever to the federal government for education or health-care? But rather quite explicitly (X amendment) assigns that responsibility to the States.

I know you do not understand the difference between a certificate of live birth (an announcement) and a birth certificate (what is required to get a passport). The controversy will remain unless Obama releases it.

There is a good reason why the founding fathers did not want foreign born presidents. It’s because what they would do and who they are loyal too. This article is a great example of what is wrong with the gutless GOP. They take advice from the wrong people and abandon their principles. In other words they become completely worthless!
