Imagine just one change of fact: The responding officer was black. Would Gates still have said:
"Why? Because I'm a black man in America?" or "I'll see your mama outside."
Probably not. I suspect he would have asked the cop why he was there, and eventually assured him that the suspicious activity observed at his front door was because of the pre-existing damage resulting from a previous break-in attempt. He would have thanked him, perhaps, for his concern and service to the community, and the interaction would have faded into the fabric of America never to rise to a Presidential presser.

He is a racist from way back. He came from the circle and diet of racism. His mother openly hated white people.
Spot On!
Yes, Gates has a long and documented history as a racist.
There is no point in debating or rehashing the finer points of this recent incident, because his animus toward whitey is well-cataloged.
Don't you just hate it when these intellectuals throw these high-brow phrases at you just to prove their mental superiority.
If Gates said that, then all the ranting was designed to put Sgt. Crowley off his professional game. That cut was then supposed to push the officer over the edge to do something truly stupid and personal that Gates could take to the bank.
Crowley displayed the best qualities that day by not evening acknowledging it until he had to file his report.
Agreed. Absolutely spot on!
Racists nitwit and he is a college professor?
Great post.
Is Obama going to get away with his “These are two good men”
comment.
Not if we raise enough ruckus!
ZACKLY!
Great article. Well said!
“I know Skip Gates well. He’s a small person physically, less than 150 pounds wet, but he is very big when it comes to militancy.
For many years, Gates has been one of the strongest academic voices on the black experience in this country. But, like many academics, Skip may not have had a lot of personal experience when it comes to dealing with cops.
Now he can write about the subject forever, having met up with them full force in his own living room.
I have no doubt that he used his intellect to humiliate the hell out of that cop.”

Willie Brown ex mayor of San Francisco and California Assembly Speaker
Ah come on, only White Christians are racists — the professor has been teaching that for years.
We’re still guilty.
Gates seized an opportunity to get his name in lights and perhaps advance his position by accusing this man of racism. I would like to hear the audio tape of the whole affair. I bet there is enough to prove what an enterprising goof Gates is.
Not me. As for that filthy remark, I don’t know what to say.
“Why? Because I’m a black man in America?”
The key to this statement has little to do with race, it is again, another Obama friend showing his contempt for America. He did not just ask because I am a black man? He said, “a black man in AMERICA.” What other country other than America would completely restructure their entertainment, educational, legal, and financial systems to accomodate 13.5% of the population? Hope he finds his utopia for black men and moves there quickly.
and the president ethnically profiled the cop when he invite him to come to the White House for beers, instad of the usual Kobe beef and fine wines.
Back when his mother grew up, she may have suffered indignities that made it understandable. He has no such excuse!
Gates WAS treated differently than a white man would have been treated.
Cops would have pulled their guns on a white man holding a cane who behaved in such an insanely belligerent manner.
