Islam in Action ^ | July 7Th, 2009 | Christopher Logan

This is a video from this years Arab International Festival taking place in the Islamic capital of the USA, Michigan. It was not enough that Sharia loving Muslims were able to stop Christians from handing out Christian literature in the festival, so they also had to gang up and punch other law abiding Christians. Things are starting to look like the UK here.

Newsflash, the police said that it is OK and they even got Christians barred from handing out flyers. The Muslims are the victim card is old and overused.

Not surprising, but you did not say a word about the Christian getting hit.

Hi! I’m in China. The link won’t work and may be blocked in China. If there is a written report from another source, could someone please send me a link? Thanks so much.

The police said it was ok and it was. It was also ok for anyone the Christian was filming to decline to speak to them while being filmed. Just because they had a booth does not mean that they are required to speak on camera to anyone. The person doing the filming didn’t like the fact that the person they were trying to film didn’t want to be filmed and declined to leave the person they were trying to film alone. That is harassment and that is why security got involved. It had nothing to do with being a Christian at all. This is America, but that doesn’t mean that anyone with a camera can do whatever the heck they want. You can’t stand at my booth with your camera and demand that I speak to you on camera. I have every right to decline to speak to you. If you stay and continue to film, you are harassing me. Security could (and should) have handled it better, but I think ejecting them was fully justified and turning this into a muslim vs. Christian thing is ridiculous. They went there with the intent to harass them, get security involved and get thrown out and then scream Christian persecution.

Security got involved because they thought they were this Christian group who was barred from handing out flyers. (Because this is a Muslim vs. Christian thing). They did not scream Christian persecution, they said that their overall rights were violated.

Still not a word about them assaulting the Christians. I see, you must be a Christian hater.

I would suspect that Apple could ban a PC group from handing out pro-PC literature at a MAC festival. I would also imagine that Christians would want to ban atheists and muslims from handing out literature at a Christian festival. Besides, I watched the entire video and it is quite obvious that the problem was the cameras. As for the assault, I know it meets the letter-of-the-law description, but I also know a couple people who were assaulted that would be offended that what happened here is being called assault.

Finally, I am a Christian, I do not hate anyone. But I can see a scripted 'outrage' when I see it.

Nothing but excuses for the Christian oppressing Muslims.
Obviously you did not notice that they grabbed a flyer from the Christian and told him to go stand on a certain corner.
That was not about the cameras. That corner was the only place where they were allowed to give them out.

Still not a word about them hitting the Christian being wrong.

More and more muslims coming to the US. You think Europe is bad, just wait.

We are even paying them to come to the US. How insane is that?!

I think my site is blocked just because the word Islam is in the title.

Can you get on this? www.nmatv.com

Let me know and I will post it there. It is the conservative version of YouTube.

Not excuses. Objectivity. "That corner" sounds like a completely legal and justified "free speech zone" that have been used and upheld many times. That hate group Westboro Baptist Church has been told to stand on certain corners away from soldier funerals and rightly and justifiably so. The same logic applies to this case. The group handing out the flyers were supposed to be isolated to a certain area. This guy (apparently) had one of the fliers from that group in his hand while trying to film the people he was talking to. It is very reasonable to think that he was PART of the Christian group that was supposed to be on that particular corner. Either way, he only drew attention to himself because he was trying to ask questions about the flier and film it which the people being filmed did not want (and which is their right). When one person does not want to be filmed and another person refuses to stop filming, there is going to be a confrontation, which there was, and then security got involved. Only THEN did they suspect the guy was part of that Christian group that was supposed to stay on their assigned corner.

And you must not be very good at reading comprehension. I said a) that security could and should have handled it better, b) that what happened meets the letter-of-the-law definition of assult and c) anyone who was really harmed in an assault would be offended that these people are counting a hand touching a camera as a "hit". Yes, legally it was assault. Noone has the right to grab someone's camera. I did see several incidents that were aggressive by security which were wrong and they should not have done and if charges are brought, they would be justified. But this was not "oppression" by any stretch of the imagination.

>>Newsflash: People don’t enjoy being filmed against their will.<<

True. And as we all see, some respond differently than others. Sometimes a great deal is exposed about a person in their response to “adversity”.

Turn the tables. Imagine this was a Christian event and the same sort of questions were being asked about a Christian flyer vs the Bible.

Every Christian I’ve ever met manning a tent like this would have jumped at the chance to answer any and all questions, and on camera.
