"Nobody Knows For Sure How This Is Going To Work"

Let's try a thought experiment. Imagine you had a friend that was a chemist. Imagine your friend invited you to their labe. Imagine, instead of merely observing, you, a layman, began mixing the chemicals in whatever haphazard manner you thought up at the time. Does that sound like a wise thing to do?

Good one. I am coming from a human direction and that is that Obama lies and the Congress will be gone and have no power done in by Obama himself.

Cap and trade is an entree to regulating (interferring) and taxing the oil industry. Obama wants this money to fund his socialized medicine.

Cap and Tax is the most unholy of alliances between the corrupt big banks and the corrupt gov’t.

The banks run the trading program, buying, selling, and creating money out of thin air. The gov’t gets their cut, and both are happy with their ill gotten gains.

We actually have farmers in Wisconsin who already participate in the Chicago carbon credit market. They get $ to use ‘environemntally friendly, carbon saving’ low till planting methods. The carbon ‘savings’ they sell are the nauctioned off on CBOT. The scam is the farmers are doing nothing different, because the low till methods they use are the norm now, they reduce the erosion of topsoil, lessen the need for fertilizers, etc.

"Obama wants this money to fund his socialized medicine."

No, you've missed the whole scam! Socialized medicine is just another scam to get our money and use it to destroy us. None of the Dems want socialized medicine; it's just another taxation port.

But, I think that the Cap and Trade and socialized medicine are inter-dependent.

Rush is talking about the fact that solar and wind power are failures. The truth is that ENRON was the first Green Energy company and that was the reason that ENRON failed. The down turn failed when ENRON got involved in building natural gas fired power plants for India. The plants were half completed when the government in India realized that they had no natural gas, but plenty of coal. ENRON never got paid for those plants.

Also, the GE Wind Project that Pickens and Pelosi bought into, used to be the ENRON Wind Project. It never made a profit, either.

Since the numbers are all over the place as to how much it will cost a year let’s look at some of the numbers our lovely Congress critters are throwing out there. If it costs about 500. a year for each American, that’s 500. x 306,766,728= cost is 153,383,364,000 PER YEAR. 175.00 x 306,766,728.= 53,684,177,700.00 PER YEAR. Somebody is going to get LOTSSSSSSSSSSSSS of money from us..... again. It needs to stop NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Green energy did no good for Enron, but the reason that it failed was that Bill Clinton drained all their operating capital by forcing them to build a power plant in India, for which the were never paid.

Thanks E-S. Add me to your list.

I’ve made the following point in passing for maybe about a year, but this is the first time I am choosing to make a sincere effort to ask others to look at the phenomenon more deeply.

In observing and listening to the political class and denizens of MSM, the newest thing (over the last year give or take) I’ve come to notice is that they are growing ever more shameless (like this clown’s smile). It suggests they believe that they can no longer be stopped.

I think it may be productive to make an issue of such behavior every time it gets very obvious. Currently I would give this example a weight of 3 out of 10 where 0 is utter hubris and 10 is genuine.

Enron went into the tank for a far less ambitious scheme than “Cap and Trade”. And people moaned about how badly they had been treated then. Bernie Madoff was a piker compared to the size of this “Tax and Kill”, which is a pernicious and regressive consumption tax that not only hits the lower strata of income totally disproportionately, it shall be practically impossible for anyone on the bottom quintile to ever leave that level.

I guess that is some kind of “freedom”, just another way to say you got nothing left to lose.

Congress is about to shoot us in the foot. We might not bleed out, but we are sure going to be pretty lame for a long time.

Yes, the Clinton administration, actually Ron Brown, facilitated the gas fired power plants in India, but that was supposed to help turn India “green”. They said no thanks, we have plenty of coal.

Coal companies, coll electrical produces and industries should print their own cap and trade bonds.

Why not? Here’s you piece of paper that will make it all better. We can fix the global environment by pushing pieces of paper around.

Better yet - I'm going to print out my own Carbon Offset Bonds and send one in with every utility bill from now on. I have two lawns and three trees, so I would guess they're good for $1 apiece on the bill. Wonder how that will go over!       ;^)
