In a year when the Obama administration is increasing spending on virtually everything non-defense related (for example Americorps receiving an incredible $5.7 billion -- for what?!), the one legitimate purpose of government (protecting it's citizens from outside attack) is getting slashed?

Obama doesn’t think the country should be allowed to defend itself. That would be “unfair”.
That money for Americorps is reverse graft. It used to be that members of the public tried to bribe the government. Now the government tries to bribe members of the public.
I was thinking more on the lines of:

In the long run it amounts to the same thing, self destruction except it doesn't involve just Bozo but the rest of the country as well.

“The ABL program has significant affordability and technology problems and the program’s proposed operational role is highly questionable,” Gates said in making the recommendation.
“There was a test launch just off the coast of California on June 6th, 2009. If successful the new Airborne Laser Aircraft could be ready for operation by 2013. President Obama had originally said that he was cutting the fund for that program but it was recommended by Secretary of Defense that they should keep it.”

The following joke was posted on Yahoo yesterday:

Upon posting, comments were made that this was a racist effing joke, that the poster was a racist mother-effer, and that he should get the eff off Yahoo.
I saw no racial component to the joke at all, and it was WAY funnier than David Letterman’s about Sarah Palin’s daughter. What do YOU all think?

peeps-I believe that if this nonsense, this dangerous nonsense keeps up, that our president, who obviously wants to demean and crush the spirit of our nation, that we will be in the streets demanding impeachment.
