The Supreme Court is NOT Meant for "Social Justice"
The Provocateur ^ | 05/01/2009 | Mike Volpe

President Obama again repeated his troubling prerequisite for a Supreme Court Justice.

“I will seek somebody with a sharp and independent mind, and a record of excellence and integrity,” he said. “I will seek someone who understands that justice isn’t about some abstract legal theory or footnote in a case book, it is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of people’s lives, whether they can make a living, and care for their families, whether they feel safe in their homes, and welcome in their own nation. I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with peoples hopes and struggles as an essential ingredient for arriving at just decisions and outcomes.”

More lies from the “messiah.” Anyone who really believes this crap, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn that I’m putting up for sale.

These are not "Community Service" judges.

Thank God, President Bush appointed not 1 but 2 extraordinary judges.

“Social Justice” = “We’re terrified that anyone less than a hard core liberal who thinks it’s cool to kill ‘pre-born fetuses’ will try to overthrow Roe v. Wade, so get ready for the likes of Janeane Garafolo to be nominated!”

Oh, can hardly wait for THIS circus. :-\

Good grief, he thinks the Supreme Court is an adjunct of the criminal court.

No clue, no problem lying to his ignorant supporters.

They know nothing, he knows they know nothing.

Obama made it very clear in his radio interview while he was still a freshman Illinois state senator what he believes in. The Supreme court should be a mechanism for wealth redistribution, an outreach program, with ACORN, working side by side to take from the rich, give to the commie loyalists.

Obama went to the best universities in the nation and he comes out with a statement like that?

This is affirmative action's chickens coming home to roost.

It is troubling. The rule of law means impartial justice, and that’s good for everyone. Placing feelings above the law is just an invitation to discrimation of one kind or another.

That’s absolutely right. You are supposed to interpret the Constitution. That has nothing to do with empathy.

High school students (in the 60’s) had more respect & knowledge of the Constitution then this pretender.

Someone needs to tell the dude squatting in the white house that the USSC is all about the rule of law and our constitution. Interpretation of our constitution to change it to modern times IS NOT PART OF THE DEAL!!!!!!! Any high school student in American Government can knows that much. Whey doesn’t the anointed one have this knowledge?????

Bewcause he is a lying crypto-marxist demagogue who has stated that the constitution is “fundamentally flawed” and regrets that SC justices have not broken free of the constraints placed upon them by the constitution. For that reason this man is an existential threat to liberty, freedom, and the stucture of federalism that the constitution provides.

I think he is the greatest domestic threat to our nation since the cold war.
