That is truly amazing since the census taking does not start until 2010.
So, the folks are imagining these people out in front of their houses with handhelds?

Census Bureau prepares for and conducts the Address Canvassing Operation using GPS equipped hand-held computers.
They were here about 2 weeks ago, and yes they held a PDA type device and handed me a(2010)Census notification. I know/knew nothing about this GPS information at the time or I would have questioned them.
It may not be worthy of a tin-foil type conspiracy theory...but it's not bullsh*t either....THEY LIVE!(heh)
I had some guy in an S10 pickup driving through my hood a week or so ago. He drove into every driveway, and either stayed in his truck or got out and walked part way to the front door, then got back in and went to the next house.
Jeff. Sitting right here next to my computer is a piece of paper that a census worker left for me. She, too, had a hand held gizmo...she SAID HERSELF, that she was from the census...and wanted to know if this house had any outbuildings used for housing purposes. And, she said the "regular" census workers would be around "next week". That was a couple weeks ago...
So far, no one's come by....
The census might not start until 2010 but they have started marking addresses with their GPS devices. I manage a 100+ unit apartment complex and a man from the census bureau was here to make each address about 2 weeks ago.
All the possible and right addresses of living quarters must be compiled before the census forms can be mailed out.
