My 91 year old mom (still drives, swims, walks, lives by herself, travels by herself, etc.) said on her 90th birthday “I never thought I would see the day we I would say ‘Oh to be 85 again’”! (That’s when a touch of arthritis and a sore knee started being felt!)

Thanks! I was reading this thread when it first got started but had nothing witty to say. Although I do keep wanting to ask my young son what the Latin means!

"36. with"

It's no secret I opted for even younger. I keep wanting to be twelve or so. With memories.

I guess I have the quaint notion that twelve-year-olds can be happy for no particular reason.

My grandma said she’d have liked to be 70 for good.
Dunno why 70 was a good age for her, ,she’d had polio when she was 3.

Welcome aboard!

It’s the ‘innocent’ appearance while concocting wacky science experiments.
There’s just some twisted poetry about it.

So I hear.
*heh*

But the heart and the mind keep telling me, “Hey, you still have this level of energy.”

Re read your post 1100.

I ‘peaked’ at 25, and it was/is downhill from there for me.

That’s just what it looks like from “when” you are. ;-)

This thread is the Undead Thread. It dates back to June of 2004.

Its continuing Mission; To Boldly Go Where No Thread Has Gone Before ... To The End Of The Internet, And Beyond!

But this month's hijacked thread started out with what appears to be fake Latin. Something about, "I came in. I went out. I got Zotted." Near enough. Make up your own.

I hated being twelve.
I always got told by the women, "Oh, aren't you so cute."
[insert sound of arcane summoning and massive hordes of acolytes wailing in horrified amazement.]

As an aside, I have seen/touched/used/accidentally turned into horrific weapons almost everything on this page.

Blessed. Just after her 90th she had to go in for some procedure - required an overnight stay in the hospital. She told me it was the only time she had spent overnight in a hospital other than having babies!

In fact, on her 90th birthday we were sitting by the lake with all the kids and grandkids skiing, etc. and she said “If it wasn’t so chilly I was thinking of trying to get up on skis again.”! (The last time she was up on them she was 74!)

And no on the yoga or anything. She did used to walk a lot until her ankle started giving her problems a couple of years ago. Now she only does a half-mile or so a day I think.
