To be fair, Obama was writing in response to a letter Chirac sent to Obama, in Chirac’s capacity as head of the “Jacques Chirac Foundation for sustainable development and cultural dialogue.”
Is this a snub of Sarkozy? Sure. A diplomatic faux pas? Of course. But, let’s not take it too far - it’s not an indication that Obama doesn’t know who is currently the President of France.

This genius actually stated that the U.S. has 57 states, stated that Iowa is Ottawa, Canada and gave PM Brown 25 DVD’S that is regionally unworkable in England...
