We've heard about many people that have lost everything because of the "economic meltdown", but they've all been general citizen types, the rich, the middle and others .. but ...
Sheesh. Can’t spell “principle” right either.
If you are asking why I plan on paying my taxes, it is simple. I have 5 kids, and 2 on the way. I have enough trouble paying what I owe, without adding a bunch of excess penalties. Don’t need the IRS on my back either. If you are planning some kind of tax revolt. Good luck with that.
“The next war is going to be fought in driveways, backyards, movie theatres, parking lots, ice cream parlors, etc....”
Agreed. A lot of folks predict the next “Civil War” in terms of States v States with the Fed Gov on one side or the other but I don’t think so.
I did you one better. :) I claimed ten.
And I’m in California. You know, the state that’s sending out IOU’s in lieu of refund checks?
Only reprimands I got as a deputy were when I refused to do the community policing projects. It was just a Clintonista / Reno BS effort to try and be the citizens keepers and scare em .
I always tried to educate em by telling em to arm themselves and defend themselves and make sure there is just one side of the story when they call me to sweep up a body....... my FTO and Sgt didn’t like me doing such briefings !.......:o)
Yep. My advice was always get a gun, learn how to use it, then get more guns. If they were liberals, I’d say get petitions and have them ready to use if they get attacked.
When you hear about the Regional Assistant Sub Director of the Department of Ragweed getting his ass whacked in a movie theater, or IMO more likely, some BLM Assistant Jerkoffs in Charge Of F****** With Ranchers in Idaho or Montana ending up with a screwdriver in his ear at the Tastee-Freez you'll know 'it's' started.

Lurker, you nailed it, that is how it happens!
"Made in the shade?" You obviously don't know what "cops" make! They are extremely underpaid for the jobs that they do. Their pay is so low that their spouses have to work too. My deceased husband was an LEO, so I know what I'm talking about!
Precedent Stinky aka BO is barely 3 weeks into his sedition and even those that voted for him are hungry, worried and watching this POS , steal money from em, go on vacation and throw Stevie Wonder a friggin party at the WH........... his actions are criminal, insulting and dangerous to every person in this country.
We have circled our wagons here....... all our investments have been cashed out and stored either in a bonded secure storage facility or a safe deposit box at our local bank. When direct deposits are put in our bank account we draw out all but the amount for paying utilities and other bills that are electronic transfers as well.
Zero confidence in this nations fiscal abilities right now.....zero !
God, Guns, Groceries and Gold is all we rely on for now.
Maybe you are behind the times. They got it made in the shade. They retire with full benefits and pay...AND AT YOUNG AGES TOO. They work side jobs for major cash...essentially selling their uniform and badge. They actually do very little on a day to day basis.
Who’s wife doesn’t work?
My buddies are cops, they tell me all the time how easy they got it.
Too many folks are in the “it can never happen here” mindset...........they die where they lie !
“That’s a bit heavy handed and out of line. Old men sacrificed a great deal for your freedom. Visit Arlington Cemetery sometime. “
Here, Here.....
We oldies have known for a long time we’d never really see social security. Damn if any government is going to take care of me, I’ll take care of myself..... To Hell with the government.

“Since when are cops broke? They got it made in the shade.:
On what planet do YOU reside?
No, I'm not "behind the times", you just don't know what you're talking about. They can retire in 20 years, but most of them continue working to make ends meet.
Whos wife doesnt work?
The men who really "have it made" don't need for their wives to work.
My buddies are cops, they tell me all the time how easy they got it.
LOL. Yeah, they've really "got it made." LEO's jobs are NEVER easy. I can assure you that I have more LEO friends than you will ever know. We are their "extended family." Ask your "cop buddies" about that!
You aren’t making a lick of sense.
If you retire at 100 percent pay and benefits, continuing to work is not going to benefit you. Unless you retire, then find ANOTHER job. And yes, who wouldn’t do that? when you are only 40 years old and have small children to support, you’d be stupid NOT to do that. Especially if you are on your second or third marriage, which is common for cops.
Well, I think that's worth looking at. I'm very interested in the work of people like Grossman and Christensen and in the psycho/physiological course of stress and the way it doesn't fit with the 24 hour duty cycle, marriage, parenting, and so forth.
Sure, some fraction of the cop pool is emotionally unfit for matrimony -- as is some fraction of the public at large. But whether you like cops or not, it's hard to make the case that the job isn't unusually stressful, and that stress is going to have consequences.
My impression is suicide is higher among cops than among the general population.
If there's something to this, then I think it's hard to determine what just compensation for being an LEO would be.
But whatever it would be, it is the case that people generally don't get what the cop business is about, what it's like, and how much good policing would cost.
I think it's a problem not to be tossed aside with a few glib remarks. Sorry to get all preachy, but since I was an LEO, albeit only a reserve, and a chaplain for LEOs it's a problem I'll take with me to my grave. We have ou, share of jerks, any group does, but around here most of our cops are good folks, and I am proud that they allowed me to minister to them, and their predicament touched my heart.
The ex wives of cops would tell you it’s more to do with them becoming drunk on power and promiscuous behavior than with workplace stress.
Most of the buddies of mine that are in some kind of law inforcement position are not divorced. I can only think of two of them that are divorced. And only one of those could be blamed for his divorce. But i’ve heard quite a few of their stories about co workers.
Yup...the old lady that was body-slammed against a wall for telling a jack booted thug that she had a revolver was a California Highway Patrolman, he couldn’t care less that he was smashing some old lady against a wall and breaking her ribs...all he knew was he had his orders, (the Nuremburg Defense) and all armed citizens must be suppressed.
My dad was in the 69th, and he met the Russians at the Elbe River after Germany’s surrender...he said they were Mongolian troops, brutal, vicious, evil people brought in to rape and terrorize the German populace. The powers that be will do the same thing to us dissidents.
