ICYMI --- The Senate just killed a THUNE Ammendment which would have replaced the ENTIRE ammount the so called stimulus with a CHECK to every taxpayer.. this would have given about 5,000 bucks to every single taxpayer, and about 10,000 bucks to every couple filing jointly.
61 idiots voted to kill it... if you think this would have been a better stimulous that the pork that is currently being debated than i suggest you call your senator if they are one of the 61
Can't you do arithmetic? There are 58 members who vote as Democrats. 61 minus 58 = three Republicans voting wrong. If in your calculations 3 is half of 40, that would explain a lot of the nonsense you have been spouting here lately.
Well I am committed to watching this on Saturday and all next week. Wouldn’t miss it for anything.
Good Night!
COLLINS SPECTOR and SNOWE !!
Not likely. Since it increases the deficit they need 60 to pass anyway. Cutting that deal pretty much guarantees no filibuster.
And you know there’s no way McConnell will discipline them, and that Steele will spend millions in GOP fund re-electing those senators.
Good thing I’m in the middle of Bible study right now. Nothing to put in the “praise” category other than Thune, but plenty to put in “petition.”
Luckily (or, more accurately, because of Him) I’m plenty blessed enough to make up the difference.
Sorry, flipped my GOP and Dem numbers.
This should be the URL for the vote but it is not working yet...
And where were these votes from the beginning? They voted for “tax cuts only” but have also been calling for more spending from the beginning.
Even Inhofe wants more infrastructure spending, instead of just taking it from somewhere else in the existing budget.

the problem I have here is these 3 republican IDIOTS voted to KILL this ammedment without a REAL VOTE !!!
What is wrong with Ensign? Primary him!
And if these Republicans truly wanted “tax cuts only,” then why have many of them offered some version of bigger spending, only ONE even bothered writing an amendment, and why didn’t they bring the amendment up earlier?
It wasn’t even scheduled to be voted on until Baucus needed something to kill time to stop E-Verify, and not one Republican other than Thune uttered a peep.
That is not even the point here... these 3 IDIOTS obviously are bought and paid for by Harry
I don’t know about “bought and paid for by Harry” but Michael (Steele) will buy and pay for their re-elections.
The RNC needs to adopt a no-support-for-stimulus-voters policy to save face with voters. Other than Thune, few if any Republicans were promoting anything other than some form of increased and borrowed spending. Even Inhofe of all people.
btt
This is not an RNC issue.. EVERY TAXPAYER IN AMERICA SHOULD BE REVOLTING !!! -— We need another “Boston Tea Party” !!! any suggestions ?
thats a good start my FRiend..
Should this pass, we must make their lives miserable until the cry uncle and step down from their seats...and I’m not kidding.
I AGREE !!
