Anyone Else Fed UP With the GOP?

Posted on 01/27/2009 9:26:08 AM PST by Karama

I am posting this, because of recent events. I am very upset with watching our freedoms being signed away by this new "President", and seeing those who are supposed to be leaders in the GOP not even batting an eye over it. I am sick of the spineless way some of the GOP behave when they should be standing up saying, "Heck No we are Not going to let you do this."

We voted for these people on the notion that they would carry out the conservative agenda that we sent them there to perform. So far we have yet to see much of this. We as citizens give these people the power to rule us. I say it is time we start taking it away if they will NOT obey the will of those who gave them their power in the first place.

I think also the crowing moment that has set me on fire for a new kind of change is the "President's" comment that he won so we should all just sit down shut up and do what ever he wants. When he told the officials we elected that he in effect told us this as well. I say now is when we need to break this silence and be as loud as we can be. I refuse to sit down and shut up any longer. I don't care if I am the only one who is willing to get a bull horn and speak my mind. I will. Conservatives, friends, silence is getting us no where, but shafted. We need to take a more proactive tack with our government. Even if it means starting a new party.

I have as of late felt that the GOP leadership has left it's grass root conservatism behind. It has fallen prey to the notion that if they become more "moderate" that they will be loved by the liberal left. Hog wash!

So in light of this, I feel if our so called "leaders" are going to leave us behind, then I feel we should do them the same turn. I call for all those with a mind for justice, and a love of freedom to stand up. All those who wish to not see this great Republic fade into the night stand up! Stand up for the constitution, for God, for the betterment of mankind! STAND UP!

Time for a new, national CONSERVATIVE Party. Jettison the RINOS. Let the GOP go the way of the Whigs. We’ll be a minority party for a while, but hell, we’re that now, and for the forseeable future, with the RINOs.

They’re a bunch of castrated wusses bent on making kissy-face with dems. SCREW THAT.

The root cause isn’t quite clear to me, but the problem is. If there’s a lack of conservative values at the core, lack of courage, or an inability to show some blood & guts passion for what is important - there needs to be a boot in ass out the door.

They're busy!!!

It takes all their time attending cocktail parties and keeping their lips firmly planted on the "One's" posterior!

McCain's nomination was to assure Hillary or Obama would win. I doubt many believe McCain with his muddled thinking, blatant lying, and huge amount of baggage could win.

I remain a registered Republican only for the slim chance I might be able to vote for a conservative candidate in my local and state primaries. I used to contribute time and money to the party. No More...

I detest the "open primary" concept that allows a determined, dedicated group of Independents and Democrats to choose our candidates. The Republican Party must stop this insanity and close our primaries.

“Do you have proof of that? What is your reasoning for this?”

You don’t really pay much attention to what politicians say, do you? If a Republican is pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, pro-illegal amnesty, anti-military, pro-welfare, pro-bailout nonsense, pro-big government, pro-public schools, pro-big brother controls, would you call them a Conservative? There are so many Republicans out there that fit this description, it’s pathetic. You need to follow what these politicians do and how they vote and quit listening to their campaign speeches.

The GOP is the Seinfeld party.

The party that’s about nothing.

Why not?

It's the "Stand up, Chuck!" joke from when Joe Biden was addressing the man in a wheelchair. Your last paragraph urged me to stand up (four times). So I said I couldn't. And I signed it "Chuck". See? It's funny.

Except when you have to explain it to the new guy.

The Republican Party must stop this insanity and close our primaries.

This is Priority #1.

McCain would not have won without open primaries. The GOP would have fielded a candidate that would have been interested in winning and wouldn't have stuck to taking public campaign money when Obama broke a promise to do likewise.

The problem is that the conservatives bi+ching the loudest are not willing to run for office. They're quite content passing judgment on those who are willing to subject themselves to public scrutiny. I'm not saying that we shouldn't call them like we see them, but who in the hell would volunteer for this?

What I don’t see people saying much anymore but I think is the most important part....US takeover!

The left was infiltrated long ago and now that they see that they can lose(2000,2004) they are in the process of TOTAL take over.

Communists and Socialist Marxism is what I’m talking about! This has been for a long time, an attempt to bring down the Western civilization and Democracy. What we are seeing in the GOP is what we have been seeing for years with the Dems.

My point...RETALIATION! The only way to win against Socialism is to arise to the occasion. I feel the ideas for taking back the GOP is long overdue, we need to find or make our own party of REAL conservatism and fight back!

I’m with you....who do we nominate for the next election? Let’s get this show on the road and they all will see just how many CONSERVATIVES there really are. I have a feeling a lot of people would come to our side and we would not be minority for long at all.

We voted for these people on the notion that they would carry out the conservative agenda that we sent them there to perform.

Uh, NO.

Most of them got votes because they were not as leftist as the person they were running against. Some got votes because they were "electable", whatever that means, and someone who really was Conservative, Republican or not was told to STFU because they were "not electable".

FOr decades, this has been the order of the day come election time.

Repeatedly we have been told that 'You have to vote for so-and-so, they are the only conservative in the race.

Well, the funny thing about voting for the lesser evil, is that sooner or later, all that lesser evil adds up to a greater one.

A slow-moving train to Perdition is going the same way as the express, and we have finally arrived.

Yesterday I put this on another topic as a reply.
I sent it out yesterday to the RNC. It is about
time they accept responsibility.
Others have added a few comments afterwards.

Republican National Committee
Chairman Robert M. (Mike) Duncan
310 First Street, SE
Washington DC 20003

Dear Mr. Chairman,

The Election as well as the Inauguration is over.
The “Other” Party won. President Obama is now
our President for better or worse. The question is
only what is the plan to regain control of either
the House or Senate? By now you have of course
held soul searching studies as to what went wrong,
and believe me, something is seriously wrong with
the RNC Strategy.

I know the line for the masses is that we hear you but…
Why haven’t we taken positive stands on the following:
• Sealing our borders and deporting illegal Aliens.
• Create Immigration reform but apply it only to those who obey our laws.
• Remove the “Birthright Privilege” to Children of Illegal Aliens.
• Eliminate any form of Government assistance to Illegal Aliens
• English as the Language of the land. Assimilate legal immigrants into society.
• Build the fence on the Southern border.
• Photo ID Requirements for elections.
• Provide appropriate sentencing for career criminals and or restore the Death Penalty.
• Stand up against Political oversight in the Finance Committee.
• Deny further Congressional or Senatorial representation from the District of Columbia.
• Strengthen our Military.
• Authorize the treatment for Noncombatant Terrorists as needed to extract information.
• Stop Earmark Spending, both sides of the aisle.
• Provide a Line Item Veto for the President.
• Create Tort Reform and reduce awards of law suits.
• Bring Liberal Judicial rulings to the Public’s Attention every time.
• Reduce the Criminal’s rights and appeals process.
• Develop alternative Fuel sources.
• Support domestic Drilling and production of refineries.
• Stand against raising the tax on Fuel.
• Reduce Spending by a REAL 4% per year.
• Don’t support and call a reduction in proposed Tax increases as a Tax Cut.
• Eliminate some Cabinet Posts.
• Eliminate obsolete Government Departments.
• Reduce the size of Government by 5 %
• Eliminate Funding for most Federal Grants.
• Provide the House and Senate the same retirement and health care as the Citizens.
• Pass Bills that only contain language that pertains to the subject.
• Lower Taxes or better yet consider alternatives to the Income Tax.
• Use common sense at the TSA when screening passengers randomly.
• Eliminate Gerrymandering Districts.
• Return to basic Conservative Principals.
• Return to basic Conservative Issues.
• Get out the Candidate’s message clearly to the public.
• Create and use “Wedge Issues” for elections.
• Reduce support for Candidates who lean more to the Democrat platform.
• Return to a grass roots system to win public support.
• Hold candidates accountably for election promises.

The above are some of the thoughts I wish to convey to the Party.
We have been losing our identity over the last few election cycles
and weakening the ideals we should stand for. If we are going to
act like Democrats I may as well vote for them, at least I know in
advance that I am going to be in for a rough time.

What part of Common Sense do you not understand? The question
remains why do you think your constituents remain uninspired and
apathetic? The real answer there is no longer a difference from “My
Party” and the other one so why get energetic?

I am sorry this went so long but the ordinary people I associate with
are all getting fed up with business as usual. It is time for a change
and I don’t mean the President’s.

Sincerely yours,
