Anyone Else Fed UP With the GOP?

Posted on 01/27/2009 9:26:08 AM PST by Karama

I am posting this, because of recent events. I am very upset with watching our freedoms being signed away by this new "President", and seeing those who are supposed to be leaders in the GOP not even batting an eye over it. I am sick of the spineless way some of the GOP behave when they should be standing up saying, "Heck No we are Not going to let you do this."

We voted for these people on the notion that they would carry out the conservative agenda that we sent them there to perform. So far we have yet to see much of this. We as citizens give these people the power to rule us. I say it is time we start taking it away if they will NOT obey the will of those who gave them their power in the first place.

I think also the crowing moment that has set me on fire for a new kind of change is the "President's" comment that he won so we should all just sit down shut up and do what ever he wants. When he told the officials we elected that he in effect told us this as well. I say now is when we need to break this silence and be as loud as we can be. I refuse to sit down and shut up any longer. I don't care if I am the only one who is willing to get a bull horn and speak my mind. I will. Conservatives, friends, silence is getting us no where, but shafted. We need to take a more proactive tack with our government. Even if it means starting a new party.

I have as of late felt that the GOP leadership has left it's grass root conservatism behind. It has fallen prey to the notion that if they become more "moderate" that they will be loved by the liberal left. Hog wash!

So in light of this, I feel if our so called "leaders" are going to leave us behind, then I feel we should do them the same turn. I call for all those with a mind for justice, and a love of freedom to stand up. All those who wish to not see this great Republic fade into the night stand up! Stand up for the constitution, for God, for the betterment of mankind! STAND UP!

You write: “Been in solitary confinement for eight years have you?” and blaming Bush “100%” for the economic collapse.

People like you, who ignored the warnings and the reports, helped elect BO - where were YOU when these came out?

Listen to these, if you dare.

And then tell us who brought the economy down...

we failed miserably on this task in the 2008 election..

Finally!

Someone who puts the blame where it really rests, on "WE" = like in "WE THE PEOPLE" -

Ours is a gov't OF, FOR and BY "WE" - so if the GOP is in disarray = or gone astray, it is because WE have been asleep at the wheel - or not in the wheelhouse at all, too busy with our own lives to put some time in doing the "OF" part, starting with being active in our local Republican Committees - that is where it all begins. That is where the candidates are first found and put forward.

Did the GOP leave us or did we leave it?

Too many sound like democrats, expecting our reps to do it all, without us lifting a finger except maybe to vote - and complain.

You going to let Boehner know you're with him today or are you leave him flapping in the wind -

Well, you’ve just provided a perfect example of why I don’t think what is taking place in Washington, D.C. is “OUR FAULT”.

We do put good people in place. And those good people are attacked by our leadership, every bit as much as they are by the left.

This accounting is very frustrating to me. I want to start an effort to see 25 new Conservatives arrive in Congress each of the four next Congressional elections.

Then you post comments that reveal that our leadership will do it’s best to demoralize those folks and get them to go back home.

And this is supposed to be “OUR FAULT”? No folks, it is not our fault. It goes way beyond that these days.

Thanks for the mention Ken5050.

The remaining GOP seats in the House will be held by increasingly conservative members..who will rise to leadership. Remember, Newt had to stage a revolt in the GOP caucus to get elected as minority leader

Is J. D. Hayworth popular over there? He was a pretty good guy at one time. Do you think it would be impossible to replace McCain with him?

Look, if your state is like ours, the Republican Leadership in the state will fight tooth and nail to block any effort to replace McCain. That’s what I see as the main problem.

As I understood it, there was actually some grass roots displeasure with McCain these days. Is that a faulty premise? If not, perhaps Republicans would be more receptive to retiring him these days.

IMO, we start to replace some of these RINOs and the message is going to be quite clear. If you don’t want to go on the endangered species list, you’re going to have to get back in line.

I think a good healthy turnover in a couple of these elections would help in ways we might not expect. And if we keep it up for ten years or so, the leadership would change too.

I contacted Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Kyl and Franks again this morning. I have been doing so almost daily for weeks now.

Uh, the Constitution Party didn’t even receive 200,000 votes in November. They will never replace the GOP.

Which is why he is so damned arrogant and always says he isn’t worried about getting re-elected — and why he never shows here to actually converse with his constituents.

Carolyn, the Liberals can’t vote for McCain in the general election if he has been replaced in the Republican primary.

I’ll come over and help if you folks can get Hayworth or another solid Conservative to run against him in the primary. I’m sure you’d be surprised how many people would.

John McCain is ground zero in 2010. The party is about to get a rude awakening if there’s anything I can do about it.

They are not going to stuff guys like McCain down our gullet any longer and get away with it.

Exactly, which is why we have to form our own version of move-on and start holding the people in OUR party’s feet to the fire.

Well, all that arrogance is actually an asset to us when the primary season comes along. When someone actually does come out to talk to Rotary clubs, women’s groups, churches, and countless other organizations, it says volumes when the other guy stays at home sipping coffee.

I know they can’t which is why I hope someone will step forward and challenge him. I am not the only voter here who has emailed JD and asked him to run. Shaddegg would be best, but someone from his district said they don’t think he is even going to run for congress again, that he wants to retire... our local state senator is very, very conservative, but he doesn’t have the name recognition or the experience to challenge McCain, and our congressman wouldn’t stand a chance against him, our district is too spread out and small.. the challenger will have to come from Phoenix, Tucson or Central Arizona. McGavin999 would have a better handle on those odds.

Excellent observation. We really have to start from the RNC — and it is looking very much like Duncan will retain his power there; which is not a good thing for the party. I was very disappointed to see Cornyn caved on both Clinton and Geithner, I assume he will cave on Holder as well... and he is currently in charge of rounding up senate candidates for the next go round and Ensign, who was in charge the last two years, his votes lately he might as well be a danged democrat. We are really hard-pressed out here to overcome all the people moving to Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico from California.

You folks form some sort of small coffee clatch or something, and come up with a candidate to run in the primary. I’m game for coming over there and helping out this fall and next winter. I’m sure others will help. I will go door to door. I will hand literature to people. I’ll be more than happy to accompany your candidate to the burbs.

If I can help call some local groups and get him face time, all the better.

I’m willing to help. Others who think they would like to should chime in here.

Now is when we need to be thinking about his.

Lets go.

JD is popular but he does have a problem with perception. I don't think he is the one to run even though he's a good guy.

I agree that a good healty turnover is what we need, actually, we need a 1994
