Anyone Else Fed UP With the GOP?

Posted on 01/27/2009 9:26:08 AM PST by Karama

I am posting this, because of recent events. I am very upset with watching our freedoms being signed away by this new "President", and seeing those who are supposed to be leaders in the GOP not even batting an eye over it. I am sick of the spineless way some of the GOP behave when they should be standing up saying, "Heck No we are Not going to let you do this."

We voted for these people on the notion that they would carry out the conservative agenda that we sent them there to perform. So far we have yet to see much of this. We as citizens give these people the power to rule us. I say it is time we start taking it away if they will NOT obey the will of those who gave them their power in the first place.

I think also the crowing moment that has set me on fire for a new kind of change is the "President's" comment that he won so we should all just sit down shut up and do what ever he wants. When he told the officials we elected that he in effect told us this as well. I say now is when we need to break this silence and be as loud as we can be. I refuse to sit down and shut up any longer. I don't care if I am the only one who is willing to get a bull horn and speak my mind. I will. Conservatives, friends, silence is getting us no where, but shafted. We need to take a more proactive tack with our government. Even if it means starting a new party.

I have as of late felt that the GOP leadership has left it's grass root conservatism behind. It has fallen prey to the notion that if they become more "moderate" that they will be loved by the liberal left. Hog wash!

So in light of this, I feel if our so called "leaders" are going to leave us behind, then I feel we should do them the same turn. I call for all those with a mind for justice, and a love of freedom to stand up. All those who wish to not see this great Republic fade into the night stand up! Stand up for the constitution, for God, for the betterment of mankind! STAND UP!

I’m through with RINOs. I will never vote for another one even if Karl Marx hisself rises from the dead and runs against him.

Minnie Pearl will be lucky to lead a Wasilla High School Band, let alone a movement.

With thinking like that, no wonder the party is in such turmoil...We get some really promising people in the pipeline and we slam 'em like they were dirt.

Here's another REAL republican who gets it = and he's got a helluva background. Maybe you can slam him too...

maybe slamming people like this make you feel less impotent...

you say: “I am open to how ever we have to do this to get things back on track”

it’s all right here. Take notes and implement.

...heck most cannot even bother to vote and then they sit back an complain.

You got that right!

Who do you know here that hasn't been voting? Please feel free to name names. And if you can't name them, then that leaves just one person you're an expert on.

Fine... help us find someone here who is even willing to run against McCain!!!! THAT is the first hurdle! The second hurdle, as McGavin999 stated elsewhere is all the liberals who WILL vote for McCain in the general election.

That video is a nice video. The guy makes a nice presentation, but he doesn’t lay out a grand plan to return the party to Conservatism. He asks folk to vote for him. He makes a good case for them doing so, but he doesn’t lay out ways to make sure he is elected, other than please vote for me.

I say that we are at the time when we need to organize, develop a plan to educate everyone within Congressional districts. Make an appeal to them. Follow up with them. And continue to remain in contact even if it’s placing a note on the door.

We need to be canvasing districts. We need to be dropping of literature that explains what our goals are. We need to explain the need for those goals to people who basically agree with us, but have felt frustrated by the lack of a person who truly agrees with our views.

This is something that needs to take place in every district.

I thought your link was going to be to something that was more organizational, that motivational. Most folks know what type of people they want, but they don’t know exactly how to go about supporting them from a to z.

I want to see more of that.

Now I see where you're getting that.

Context, please. I even quoted what I refered to. Arizona Carolyn stated "a third party would be no better beacause basically American;s are lazy, have a manana attitude and let the other guy do it attitude... heck most cannot even bother to vote and then they sit back an complain."

That's with what I was agreeing. The third party angle.

Arizona Carolyn, amen again sister!

Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
And dont sleep on these two, either.

Unless you're talking about vouchers, let's stop using the PC media term and soft-peddling this morally abhorrant position, and call it what it is, pro-abortion.

Perfect.

We should always say "Yes, I'm pro-choice - you ARE referring to being able to send kids to the school of OUR CHOICE, aren't you?"

Carolyn, I believe most people are a lot more Conservative that people take them for. Even in California, we can get support for an initiative like Proposition 8, if we explain it clearly and concisely.

The time to replace John, is in the Primary. We make sure he won’t be on the ballot in the general election.

This is something I want to do nationwide, district by district. It’s time to start mowing down these old leftists that block us from attaining our goals.

I have no problem with Republicans who are still actual republicans, individually. I simply recognize that the PARTY structure is NOT in their hands AT ALL, and is not likely to be in the foreseeable future. People are fooling themselves if they think they’re going to get anything more than increasingly sophisticated lip service from these people.

Look, the third parties are glowing examples of why they aren’t the answer. Each election they get 1 to 3% of the vote. And that’s all they’ll ever get.

People blow off steam. You may lose a few of them, but most people aren’t going to go third party.

I don’t think we make ground by making blanket insults on the forum. We make ground by coming up with a plan that will replace the people in our own party that don’t vote the way they should.

To that end, I would prefer seeing folks form small groups within districts that can grow as the primaries near. We need to canvas, sell a man with a Conservative vision, and retire these RINOs.

If we are going to expend energy here, then that’s the sort of thing we need to accept, push, modify, improve upon and put in to action.

Saying that folks don’t do jack doesn’t motivate people. Saying that all people do is complain and post on Free Republic is not going to motivate people.

Saying, “I’m going out on Thursday to make sure every home on the north-side gets a tract to support our next Conservative Congressman, and I need some help”, will probably come a lot closer to motivating people.

Interesting thread...

As one who is thoroughly disgusted with the GOP..let me remind everyone that it was only 14 years ago when we all awoke to find that... miracle of miracles.... the GOP had swept control of the Congress. So how did we capitalize on this great opportunity...why, we ceded the presidential nomination to Bob Dole, simply because it was somehow "his turn"...we chose to give our greatest honor, nomination to the position to best bring about the return of the values we all hold dear, to an old man, who was incapable of articulating them, if indeed he even held with them.. Then, when we lost the WH, why the bozos in the GOP leadership in Congress, after internicince battles, somehow decided that the best way to "save their majority" was to move to the left and start spending like drunken sailors.

The entire present Congressional leadership of the GOP has to go, period..

Note that Adam Putnam, a strong, young, articulate CONSERVATIVE House member from here in Florida, who had risen quickly to the House leadership, has given it up, and will NOT run for reelection to his seat..instead, he wants to become Florida's Agricultural Secretary. If that doesn't tell you what he thinks of the House GOP, and its chances in the near future, as well as the leadership's dysfunctionality, nothing does..

D-1 the problem we have here is that McCain practically owns the state. Every time someone gets enough signatures to run, McCain manages to have the signatures challanged and wipes them out.

We are now having a terrible problem with liberal Californians coming over here. They polluted their nests in CA so they come over here and are polluting OUR nest. We would welcome conservative republicans with open arms, but that's not who is coming over here, or if they are they are the ones who open the business and bring all their liberal employees with them.

I guess you didn't bother to read Drudge this evening. Boehner is telling them NO!!! Also says the former aide to ex-leader Hastert is a lobbyist and he is trying to "get something" on at least 40 GOP congressmen so they can peel them off... oh, and Obama is meeting with corporate CEO's tomorrow to put pressure on the GOP, too...

Michelle Bachmann was on Glenn Beck this afternoon and begged for all of us to call, fax, email our representatives, said the democrats are trying to force this through before the people get wind how bad it is...

as to how good or bad our representatives are... well that is because WE have not held their feet to the fire... a third party would be no better beacause basically American;s are lazy, have a manana attitude and let the other guy do it attitude... heck most cannot even bother to vote and then they sit back an complain.

Beared repeating :o)

Read this one over, folks. Print it out and follow it.

Start right now by letting Beohner know we're behind him. We help him win this first one or forgeddabouit for the duration and enjoy living under Socialism;

Heres' his web site:

http://johnboehner.house.gov/Contact/

Here's his phone and fax:

202) 225-6205

(202) 225-0704 fax

Here's how to contact him if you're not in his district.

http://republicanleader.house.gov/Contact/

Let's see how many of you can put your 'money' where your mouth is. Stop posting for 5 minutes and let him - and the Socialists - know we've got his back.

Why should he - or anyone else - put themselves out in front like this if we don't back them up? This may be our one shot. We lose this, it's OUR fault.

Anyone who doesn't should forever hold their piece...read my tag line.

You say: “I’m upset with the people who stuck their heads in a hole and let W wreck the GOP and the economy.”

What rock have you been hiding under? People like you, who ignored the warnings and the reports, helped elect BO -

Listen to these, if you dare.

And then tell us who brought the economy down...

Email to non-Freepers. Fax D.C. Write some letters to mail. Pray. Ping. Rinse and repeat until they’re back at the phones.'

'zactly.

But letters only to local papers - editors.

It takes 3 weeks or more for letters to get to reps in DC due to security concerns -
