After 10 years and many thousands of replies, I am leaving FR.

I don't really care, and I don't know why anyone else would.

I am leaving before I am banned (again). Truth doesn't seem to matter on FR. I don't know if it is donations or sympathetic opinions that do, but I have been suspended twice when I followed the rules and the people who complained to the moderators didn't, yet the moderators sided with them.

For the record, evolution is a fact and the Shroud of Turin is a fraud. I would prove it if the admin moderators would let me, but they won't. Your resident "expert", Swordmaker won't debate me because he can't.

I will work to build a forum where members have rights and truth matters.

Merry Christmas

That kind of paranoia needs professional help.

Hey I'm sure that took some sort of effort on Yote's part!

Lets give him a round of pause for a copy-n-paste well done!

Never mind the colossal bias evidenced at the magazine this Bizarro World screed comes from, the text you posted is so freakish that it would be a lot of fun even if it had been printed in National Review, much less a hate organ like Public Eye! Man, this is almost as good as when you posted the statement of faith from a Christian website as "proof" we're all plotting to take over and eliminate science!

I especially love the part where it says that most of us don't realize that we're Reconstructionists. Well, perhaps, my dear Coyoteman, you don't yet realize that you secretly want to have sex with basset hounds. You never know! BWAHAHAHAHA!!

Oh, and then there's this...

Because as a theology it is controversial, even among evangelicals, many who are consciously influenced by it avoid the label.

I've attended church since I was a baby, with 25 years of that in evangelical churches. Guess how many debates, discussions or references to this great controvesy I've come across in the evangelical community?

ZERO.

Every single reference I've ever heard to it comes from Bizarro World leftists. At best it's a fantasy born out of their paranoia and hatred of Christ's followers; at worst it's a fantasy they can use to justify future action against us, as in "I should have known the Jedi were plotting to overthrow Chancellor Palpatine!" See, now you've got me wearing the tinfoil hat! BWAHAHAHAHA!!

In short, you are paranoid and should seek medical help immediately. Seriously. I know I've made some jokes here, but if you really believe this stuff, there may be something wrong with your brain chemistry.

But before you pull out the phone book and look up a psychiatrist, perhaps you could answer this question:

Do you believe eliminating religion should be a main goal of working scientists?

Pretty easy yes or no answer there.

I would furher point out that it is not the priciple of scientific research that is objected to (by most Christians) but rather incomplete and sloppy research.

It is scientists who took the quick and easy way, jumping to the conclusion that only embryonic cells would do, who raised false hopes of cures.

Time, patience and the responsible use of scientific method later showed that adult and placental cells offered much more promise.

If science had incorporated even the most rudimentary vestiges of natural moral law, much less the Christian perspective, then strides could have been made even faster in cellular research. Using ethical guidlines never prevents progress, it only protects civilization from the profane

I can think of plenty of examples of where a lack of ethics and morality led in scientific research and it ends up being the stuff sci-fi horror movies are made of. Human experimentation comes to mind.....

I will be accused of fulfilling Godwin's Law, but I think this is one of those cases where an extreme example shows why absolutism is the road to Hell.

Two words: Doctor Mengele.

We also asked him if he was pro-life or pro-abortion.

No response.

Another very difficult question for him to answer is this: "is there truth in science?" Ironic, isn't it, for someone who has a habit of calling other people science deniers.

IOW, because we deny it, that's proof that we're guilty.

As theology, it's nonexistent.

Those guys are doing some pretty strong stuff. I'll bet there's quite a market for it if only people knew.

It really is sad to watch someone come unhinged like that.

It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
