Bad Science: How Not To Do Image Analysis Part II

Understanding image analysis is very important. Otherwise, you cannot tell fact from fiction. Equally important is the need to understand how not to do image analysis. Otherwise charlatans may try to pull a fast one over you.

In my previous blog entry, "Bad Science: How Not To Do Image Analysis", I debunked the work of an anonymous troll who called himself "TechDude". TechDude used a sample biased, false data, and artifacts created by his own tools to conclude that the Obama certificate of live birth (COLB) was fake. TechDude also used false credentials (he impersonated another person) in order to sound authoritative. Following my public critique of his report and outing of the impersonation, TechDude vanished. Even his strongest supporter, "Texas Darlin", pulled all of TechDude's reports from her blog. TechDude was a fraud and used bad science to support a false conspiracy.

Today, there is only one person who continues to propagate the "COLB is fake" conspiracy. He calls himself "Ron Polarik" (an anonymous pseudonym -- not his real name), and he also uses bad science to support his claims. His latest report, Polarik's final report: Obama's 'Born' Conspiracy is accompanied by a YouTube video. (Since he keeps restricting access to it and moving it around, I am making a copy available here.)

Before I begin evaluating Polarik's claims, I would like to point out that the entire claim -- that Obama was not born in Hawaii -- is false. Representatives from the State of Hawaii have repeatedly authenticated Obama's COLB.

.* 27-June-2008 Janice Okubo from the Hawaii Department of Health confirmed that the document was valid.

His conclusion that Okubo confirmed that the document was valid is not correct. If you click on the link he provided you will see she did no such thing. In fact here is what she concluded when pressed:

Still, she acknowledges: “I don’t know that it’s possible for us to even say beyond a doubt what the image on the site represents.”

Not even close to confirming the document is valid?

I think you’ve missed the point of this post - that there’s no evidence that the posted COLB is fake or has been digitally manipulated. There should be little doubt about the legitimacy of the posted COLB, especially as it’s been verified that it exists in Hawaii. Polarik is claiming opposite with little-to-no evidence that’s easily debunked.

If you believe that the posted COLB is insufficient, that’s another ballgame entirely, isn’t it?

The saddest part of all this mess is the betrayal of black people. This fraud, Obama, is an affirmative action candidate of the owrst kind: he is not eligible to be president, is using millions to try and forge his way into the position, which bespeaks his actual lack of qualifications for the position.

Even more demeaning and fraudulent is the fact that at most, Obama is only half black. He has shared none of the typical experiences of being a "Black American" in any venue, be it rural or urban, is anything but "downtrodden", and is in fact, a fraud.

Anyone who voted for him because of his 'blackness' was played for a sucker, be they white guilt ridden liberals or blacks looking for racial solidarity.

With the vague nature of his campaign rhetoric, only the diehard socialists and Marxists can claim to actually have supported something they knew.

An awful lot of people out there ought to be feeling suckered right now, and they might be a wee tad ugly about it when they find out.

I just hope they have the presence of mind to realize WHO suckered them and vent their displeasure on the deserving.

This looks like a retread of an earlier article in June/July written by Krawetz where he was just as rude & obnoxious about Polarik.

When the Supreme Court puts Polarik & Krawetz on the stand, we’ll see some interesting results. My impression is that Polarik will likely sucker Krawetz into his version of 3-card-monte that shut Palmer up.
