UPDATE ON DAD

Lunch time he was anxious because he was out in his chair but very alert and allowed me to encourage him to eat with me helping 2 small yogurts, bowl of strawberries and cream and also a boiled egg and salad cream and half slice of smoked salmon.

I arrived later at the hospital about 5.15pm and he was still asleep from the afternoon.

He was in a very deep sleep but I managed to wake him enough to get 2 more small yogurts down him and from the food trolley cauliflower cheese and broccoli and carrots.

He then went sound asleep apart from rousing slightly when the nurse took out the clips from his wound which is virtually healed apart from a small part right at the bottom in the crease but even that was not enough to pack only have the large sticking plaster over it. The first 2 inches at the top has healed enough including where the clips came out now to be uncovered.

As he was so tired I asked for a doctor to check him out. All his ops were stable when roused he answered questions fine but just said he was tired. Dad said that as he had not slept well for several nights he thought he was just catching up. They took blood, tested his chest, did an ECG though they did not think anything was wrong, they also said they would discuss with his doctor's team the possibility of tomorrow doing a chest xray to see if that shows anything.

I have just rung and blood results do not appear to be back but the ECG was clear and the doctor who checked him again did not seem over concerned so maybe he is just tired. He was still sleeping.

I will take in another boiled egg with salad cream tomorrow lunch time along with banana and cream as the nurse said not a cause for alarm but his potassium levels were slightly low in the morning blood tests and I will also put salt in with the boiled egg. I will also take some more strawberries in as well.

Great news, snugs! Since your dad is eating and drinking much better, and they are moving him in and out of bed on a regular basis, it may be that a combination of that along with the restless nights he was experiencing (as he said) has worked together toward his sleeping more deeply and resting more. This may be another phase in his getting those things regulated. Hope so!

Keeping y’all in prayer.
