The host here is talking to a guy who seems to be connected to some of the GOP bigwigs, who give him internal polling numbers. The audio link is abysmally slow. If this is accurate, and I cannot vouch for it, but it sounds like it might be, we could be in for a really great night of schadenfreude on Tuesday, watching the Chernobyl meltdown on MSNBC.

We’re all in this together and grabbing for any good news that has McCain/Palin winning. The MSM and their polling does not help us at all. I agree with what one FReeper mentioned that it is not the polling but the way they skew their information. Our gut knows McCain is closing well...but I for one just need badly to hear some uplifting info from a pollster like I heard last night when getting home that Zogby had us up by 1 (47-46). I went to bed happy and woke up happy knowing that our guy is closing the deal. But then, you know that these bias pollsters will try their best to not help the Republicans...so, in these last few days we have to listen to the GOP ones (I am) and get out the vote, pray and believe...because we aren’t gonna get a lot of help from the pollsters. My gut says we are winning...and the indepedents still left is unheard of. This is fantastic news.....We can do it! Thanks for your note...
I live in S Jersey as well....LOTS of local democrat signs, virtually NO Obama signs...and slightly more McCain Signs.
I know NJ will go Obama, but I’m not sure that South Jersey will
I did a 40 mile bike ride through Hunterdon (NJ) and Bucks (PA) counties last Sunday a.m., and i was disappointed in the number of Zer0bama lawn signs I saw compared to M/P. Must’ve been 70/30, maybe even 80/20. I would’ve thought that the messiah would dominate in Newark, Camden, Trenton, Plainfield, etc., and thus win the state, but I thought for sure the rural areas would be for McCain.
Thankfully, returning to FR got me off of the ledge (as it did in ‘04)! :D
P.S. Riding when it’s a little chilly out gives me a runny nose. The Zer0bama signs gave me good target practice for my expectorations.

I live about thirty miles south of Detroit. Two weeks ago there were very few McCain signs around. Last week there suddenly appeared many McCain signs. In my area I think McCain signs now outnumber Obama signs by a substantial margin, maybe 2 or 3 to one. I am hoping that maybe, just maybe...
I’m hoping it is closer to 300. Then there can be no complaining or doubt about who is president.
Michigan is in play for several reasons:
*Deep disaffection with all Democratic
rule in state mired in severe economic
problems,
*Traditional street operations on election
day in Detroit being put in peril by a
rift between Detroit city officials and
Gov. Granholm over the Kilpatrick affair.
*Continued shrinkage in the Detroit population.
While I tend to agree the entire tale is VERY unlikely, there are a few things going that make it possible, if not likely.
McCain has patched together a very unusual coalition. Many PUMAS have said he is the ONLY Republican they would vote FOR. Otherwise they would have just stayed home. They also would not have worked FOR the GOP Nominee. That is a HUGE difference IMO.
But AT THE SAME TIME McCain managed to select a VP that has ignited a passion in the conservative base unseen since Reagan. I really don’t think Bush stirred up this kind of passion as Palin has. There is something going on here that is almost indescribable. When a person has “it” you can’t really waste time trying to explain it, it just IS. Palin has it.
The third leg to this stool is the collective doubt about Obama. It isn’t just one doubt, it is a collection of different doubts. McCain would be toast without any one of the 3 legs of the stool. He would have toppled over, but he has managed to craft the only path to a win. Doubts about Obama, McCain is a person the moderate and even somewhat liberal Dems can regard as a hero. And amazingly, the Conservative base is fired up AT THE SAME TIME. Think about that for a second. You have a GOP team and it is a team both somewhat liberal Hillary supporters, and very conservative supporters can vote for. That is, quite frankly, amazing. Again, not since Reagan has that dynamic existed.
I don’t think California is in play, but I can see McCain winning PA by a nice number and that spilling over to at least make NJ closer than normal. Ohio should be a blowout if McCain wins PA. Michigan is an odd state, but I can see it happening because of the socialist angle.
I think a LOT of people are going to come out of the woodwork to vote AGAINST Obama and FOR Palin. They also may be different groups. Obama might boost turnout, but they are forgetting he may boost an equal or larger turnout AGAINST him. And while the MSM will spin it is because he is black, it really is because of the color socialist red.
That is where Obama’s stool is wobbly. He has the one leg of Bush hate up, but his base is a little off...the leg is a bit short because of Hillary. The third leg is that people must seem him as safe enough to vote for. That leg is going to have to be attached with silly string and scotch tape. Will it hold together enough for Obama to win? It is going to fall off eventually, because of who O really is, but will it be Pre or Post election?
We’ll have them all on....... when possible...I want to watch the meltdowns along with the excuses. Oh yeah, don’t forget to record the morons this will be priceless.
MI might be possible as well, but not too likely.
My sister-in-law, a Jewish Democrat raised in a family of liberal Jewish Democrats, is voting for McCain and makes no bones about her dislike of Obama.
However, since she lives in Massachusetts, it doesn’t really matter all that much.
It's a tossup between that and watching the 'festivities' at Grant Park. ;-)
First, I would go outside, take down my mcCain signs and put up a hand made “Obama wuz robbed” poster. Then I would set up a stand selling torches and bricks. (Hey might as well make a buck off the riots)
Rush has consistently been saying that his gut is telling him nothing.....until yesterday. He now says it's telling him the MSM has been selling us an illusion of Obama's inevitability.
He's now saying McCain will win based on Rep/conservative turnout.
Enjoy-I always thought it would be a Mccain landslide but reserved on Jersey. While I never advised the GOP to spend money here, this state is definitely in play.
