Newton Minow was also chairman of the FCC back in the 60's and is a deeply evil man. He's the guy who destroyed the old sponsor driven television programming model, replacing it with the centrally controlled network programming model. Sherwood Schwartz despised Minow and named the shipwrecked boat on Gilligan's Island after him. Rod Serling hated him too.

Minow is also the guy who famously described television as a "vast wasteland". It's a fitting observation since he did so much to make it that way.

He is co-chair of the Presidential Debate commission and gets to decide who moderates the debates.... He is also the person who helped set up the Annenberg Challenge that hired both The One and Ayers.
