This should not be surprising.
It is my understanding that there was an open air slave market in Mecca in which black Africans were bought and sold at the time that Malcolm X made his pilgrimage there and he said nothing about it.
It is well known which families are the descendants of slaves in Makkah - & that’s where the bulk of them are located.
