I've been thinking about how to force the issue, legally. Here's one possible method. A handful of voters in Hawaii need to be ready to act, the minute that the Democrat Convention officially votes to nominate Barack Obama for President.

At that very moment, a registered voter in Hawaii would have, in my opinion, the right to challenge under Hawaii law against a candidate who might be unqualified factually to appear on the Hawaii ballot as a candidate for President. The claim would be based on a combination of state law and the requirements in the US Constitution.

It seems to me that an Hawaii judge, with the critical evidence available from a division of Hawaii officials, would be compelled by circumstance to order the public release of the official documents concerning the circumstances of Obama's birth.

That’s ok. We have a picture claiming to be of Obama Jr. on another thread where it is claimed he is 10 years old. Problem is, the building (airport) the picture was taken in was razed in 1965.

Another nail in Obama's political coffin

Well, no. The fellow's three "arguments" for why Hawaii is "wrong" are pretty laughable. This is a guy who is grasping at straws.

For example, consider the author's alleged "vital interest" in getting his mitts on the birth certificate. Well, Our Author is certainly an interested fellow. But "vital interest" is a term reserved for more official needs than those of some blogger on the internet. Even if we agree that Obama's birth certificate should be inspected by a competent and honest party, there is no compelling argument for making that certificate itself available to the general public. The public's "vital interest" extends no further than a determination that Obama does, or does not, meet the Constitutional "natural-born citizen" requirement. They don't need to inspect the document to get that kind of determination.

In addition, one gets the impression that the author believes that Obama's birth certificate is somehow less entitled to protection than his own would be. I guess he's never heard of things like identity theft....

Finally, there's this little gem: although the statute includes a list of persons who are entitled to obtain a copy of the birth certificate, it does not anywhere indicate that the list is exhaustive or exclusive.

That's just plain ridiculous.

The author you are referring to is not the author of this piece, FWIW. She is quoting that author, though. But I agree with him nevertheless. Those running for President must present valid credentials to the American people when valid questions are raised.

That's quite true. Nevertheless, whoever wrote those three "reasons" has presented a patently ridiculous line of argument.

There is NO reason for Hawaii to mail off a copy of anybody's birth certificate to some nitwit in the blogsphere.

It looks like Hawaiian officials are stone walling the release of Obama's birth certificate.

Here’s another blogger giving a thumbs down with pics to obama’s birth certificate. The guy says he is a board certified forensic computer investigator. He says his background includes a lot of investigations into forgeries. His work on obama's birth certificate shows a lot detail.

In her remarks on MSNBC Michelle Obama says of Barak. "His own mother, she said at the beginning of her remarks, was "very young and very single when she had him." "

Its reasonable to conclude that the Obama campaign would be hesitant to release his birth certificate because it would show that he was born illegitamate. Since there is a significant percent of the US population that is illegitimate -- you would think that barak would be comfortable releasing his birth certificate. but maybe not.

Jesse Jackson's remarks about wanting to cut off baraks nuts came because of baraks speech that exhorted fathers to take part in their children's lives--especially black fathers.

That speech may have come because of speculation on the internet about baraks birth certificate--which would show that his mom was single when she gave birth.

As well Michelle's remarks that barak's mother was "very single" when barak was born likely means that barak obama was born "barry dunham". Likely too his father's name wasn't on the birth certificate.

Of course then you have to say "so what". Lots of people today are born illegitamate in the USA. Bill Clinton's dad wasn't around very much. But then you'd have to ask --why then would the obama team go to such trouble to fudge the issue.

You might say that Barak is either skating on thin ice or that he's thin skinned. Either way he is definitely granular about the projection of an image. Here is an LA Times article about Obama's having removed two moslem women from sharing the stage with him.

I checked over at littlegreenfootballs and found that they're not buying the forgery angle.I don't think this story will go further up the info food chain until littlegreenfootball changes their opinion. (However, he is saying that obama's website houses some wierd opinions.)

So why wouldn't Hawaii release the original?

Here is how the McCain campaign handled questions about his birth certificate. Its pretty perfunctory. They issued a hard copy of his birth certificate.

I agree as no one wants their birth certificate or any numbers of their SSN disclosed, especially the last four to anyone without a need to know.

Certainly the FEDS know if he is legit or not?.
