Gateway Pundit has picked up on the Rocky Mountain News tidbit about Kenyan citizenship. He also links to a report from 2007 which says this:

ANNOUNCEMENT OF BLOCKBUSTER CHICAGO NEWS CONFERENCE DISCLOSING THAT UNDER KENYAN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, BARACK OBAMA IS A KENYAN CITIZEN:

(CHICAGO)(February 8, 2007) Chicago-based Internet journalist, broadcaster and critic Andy Martin will hold a news conference Friday, February 9th at 11:00 A.M. to announce that U. S. Senator Barack Obama is a citizen of Kenya and became a citizen of Kenya under the Independence Constitution of Kenya in 1963. Obama has never renounced his Kenyan citizenship. He is also a U. S. Citizen.

There’s more to this a GP.

This is from that guy Andy Martin and is dated right back to the time Obama announced his candidancy. He indicates that there is more to the story that will be revealed. Did he ever do this? I checked his site ContrarianCommentary.com and there are no archives for Feb. 2007. At the link I’ve provided there is his email address. Should we contact him and ask him questions about this? Also could this be the source of the Rocky article?

97. Dual citizenship

1. A person who, upon the attainment of the age of twenty-one years, is a citizen of Kenya and also a citizen of some country other than Kenya shall, subject to subsection (7), cease to be a citizen of Kenya upon the specified date unless he has renounced his citizenship of that other country, taken the oath of allegiance and, in the case of a person who was born outside Kenya, made and registered such declaration of his intentions concerning residence as may be prescribed by or under an Act of Parliament.
2. * A person who
   1. has attained the age of twenty-one years before 12th December, 1963; and
   2. becomes a citizen of Kenya on that day by virtue of section 87; and
   3. is immediately after that day also a citizen of some country other than Kenya.
   shall subiect to subsection (7), cease to be a citizen of Kenya upon the specified date unless he has renounced his citizenship of that other country. taken the oath of allegiance and. in the case of a person who is a citizen of Kenya by virtue of section 87 (2), made and registered such decIaration of his intentions concerning residence as may be prescribed by or under an Act of Parliament.
3. A citizen of Kcnya shall, subject to subsection (7). cease to be such a citizen if-
   1. having attained the age of twenty-one years, he acquires the citizenship of some country other than Kenya by voluntary act (other than marriage); or
   2. having attained the age of twenty-one years. hc otherwise acquires the dtizenship of some country other than Kenya and has not. by the specified date. renounced his citizenship of that other country, taken the oath of allegiance and made and registered such declaration of his intentions concerning residence as may be prescribed by or under an Act of Parliament.

He published a book, Obama, the Man Behind the Mask, it was due out this past July. I am on pre order for it. A few days before the first shipment was due at the warehouse, it was held up at the publishers. Andy Martin didn't say why it was held up. But I've not received it yet. Andy Martin has been on his scheduled Book Tour doing press conferences anyway.
