Nothing looks so much like the inside of an air terminal as another air terminal...

That's not the problem. The problem is Obama claiming that it was Honolulu when he was 10. If he was born in 1961 and the old terminal switched all operations to the new one in October of 1962, and this is the old terminal, then this picture could not be of him in 1971.

I'd have to see picture of what the terminal looked like in 1971 to rule out that the pictures were taken in 1971.

Form follows function, and the function of an air terminal in 1961 wasn't all that different from 1971.

Things really started changing (oddly enough) in 1971 when Intel intorduced the first single chip microprocessor, the Intel 4004.
