The MAC was supposed to be better than a PC.
Does anybody out there know how to use this thing?
Let’s start with the basics. Treat me like the MAC retard that I am.
How do I click on a link and get it to open in a new window.
Is that too much to ask?
In the Finder desktop, double-click on an icon.
Enjoy your beers.
When you return go to:http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/
That’s the Apple tutorial for new Mac users, complete with video.
Suggest you bookmark the page as you’ll be returning to it often as questions arise. Use the site map link at the bottom of the page for support, which includes user forums where you can find answers to most of your questions.
Oh, and congratulations on a fine choice.
I get it to open up but it’s in the same window.
Have sent help offer via FRMail, check it.
Congratulations, Eric

Enjoy your Mac.
plug it in, turn it on.
Look up instructions for reformatting your hard drive.
I’ve had a Mac for three years. I use my PCs and Linux boxes. I guess I’m just not smug enough to use a Mac.
I have a mac mini. Plugged it in, turned it on. EASY. Just have to get used to the different icons, and YES, I don’t have to keep restarting it like my windows machine at work.
I saved it. What’s with the bookmarks on the 3rd line? I got youtube, google maps, wikipedia.
I’m going to watch some rap videos on youtube with the sound off. Try it. It’s not that bad with no audio. Lot’s of booty shaking and cool pictures without the noise pollution and naughty words.
Thanks. Despite my wiseass comments, I really do appreciate the links that everyone has provided.
That’s why I posted this desperate plea for help. FReepers are great.
Nobody has yet been able to explain how to open up a link in separate window however.
that’s my problem. I don’t want instructions. I already know how to use MS Windows.
I learned between system crashes.
Jeez! I thought *I* was a computer putz. Utilities my boy. Just like in Windoz. Go to system Preferences and set up you mouse.
You’re putting us on, right?
When you open Safari, the Apple web browser, at the top of the screen you'll the menu bar. Click the bookmarks. A drop down menu will appear. select "show All Bookmarks" You'll find many pre-loaded. Note the Apple folder where you might want to bookmark the tutorial page for a quick return without stepping through the Apple menus.
Yes. Please leave it at the front door porch. : )
That's not a Mac thing, it's an FR thing. Go to Account (in FR) click on My Preferences, tell it to open in new window.
Happy sailing!
right click on mouse or hold down control button and then left click. (have you configured your mouse? Left button is primary, right button is secondary)
