UPDATE: Friday April 18
The "Sixteen year old girl." A hoax???
I am SPITTING mad. Texas authorities better have those children back in their mothers arms by tonight.
"A 33-year-old Colorado Springs woman has been questioned about a telephone call that sparked a raid at the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints compound in western Texas two weeks ago.
Rozita Swinton was arrested at her home Wednesday night by Colorado Springs police for an incident that occurred in February. Members of the Texas Rangers were also in Colorado Springs as part of their investigation.
"The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs (Wednesday) as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas. They left and have not filed any charges on Rozita Swinton as of this time," said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Skip Arms.
Colorado Springs police said the arrest warrant has been sealed and refused to release any other details, reported Deseret News."

“Already read it and just wondering how much it will cost to care for them the rest of their lives.”
Quite a bit. But not so much that Hillary couldn’t write a check to cover it out of her own account.
Not that that will happen. We will pay for the expenses on this, no matter the outcome.
Just to set the record straight
The young girls at the FLDS are getting spiritually married, yet do NOT know what AMERICAN IDOL is.
( sorry, tripped over my own tongue)
“Regardless, it is going to be a mess.”
Now there is a statement I would back up with COLD HARD CASH.
“It’s not like they can walk away from the compound, down to the shelter and ask for help.”
It is well documented, in the media, and here on FR threads, that they have done exactly that thing.
Probably less than it would have cost to support them the rest of their lives in the compound from welfare and other entitlement scams. At least they may now grow up and be a producer in stead of a drone.
By golly, I think you've got it! It's printed right there in penumbras of the Bill of Rights. Right next the the right of the parents to murder their unborn children. [P-marlowe]
LOL!!!!!
Hey, I've gotta give a lot of these round-about pro-polygamist defenders "credit." If I wanted to "loosen up" societal law enforcement on any given moral evil, I'd do what they're doing: I'd make the government the culprit to turn the attention off of the real culprits.
(Hey, it worked in the O.J. Simpson trial...it went from a trial about domestic violence triggered murder with O.J. as the accused to where Mark Fuhrman was on trial for his racist statements...the trial was converted from what a man & woman violently endured to "the process" [civil rights protection] and "processors" [govt. law enforcement]...and if "the process was "off-base" only by a splinter...well, who knows? The state will soon use that splinter against others if you fail to rousingly rally to O.J.'s side...who cares about the blood of the innocent? As long as we're not "next" in the government "checklist") /sarc
This may shed some light on that post at 128
That's why I am quitting my job as an engineer and going to law school.
“The man in the warrant in colorado who was falsely accused is free to go and will not be charged.”
He is free to stay in touch with his probation officer, remember he was already convicted for his role as a “husband” in this cult.
“Dale Barlow has a 2007 conviction in Arizona for criminal charges related to marrying and impregnating a different 16-year-old girl, which may have contributed to confusion.”
Girls? Walked away? Have you read how they escaped at all?
“Just to set the record straight”
So, I would say, your opinions might have a little more foundation than say, mine, or many others on this thread.
Now, where were we?
It seems rather obvious Jenny Hatch is slightly behind the curve on the latest facts, and being misled by some articles in the MSM.
I would guess she? is just ducking all the lamps that are being thrown at her.
She does not seem to be advocating child rape, any more than any other poster.
I find it better (and am trying to stick with) to ‘inform’ instead of just accusing.
Maybe she’s at dinner.
“I’ve never seen an fLDS girl in a women’s shelter. It’s not like they can walk away from the compound, down to the shelter and ask for help.”
OK.
“Have you seen pictures of Flora Jessop?”
Yes
“She is one tough, hardened cookie, and she doesn’t take anybody’s crap. She is one of the activists helping those who can escape.”
And, didn’t she used to be a member of the particular FLDS group that this story is about? She escaped, apparently.
Is it OK for 16 year old boys to have sex or marry 18 year old girls? Or 18 year old boys? or 20 year old boys? Where is the cut off? Is the whole thing about ages? My grandmother was 15 when she married my grandfather. I’m 10 years older than my wife. This whole thing is a mess.
A) Some of the women appear happy. B) some of the kids do too. C) is the only thing the young age of the “wives” or is it the fact they marry old coggers? Lets get the whole story before we start to rip kids away from their families.
You need to read up on this bunch. They’ve already been “ripped away from their families” long before the authorities arrived at the ranch. Children are not generally left with their mothers. They are cared for by other women in the community. Most don’t even know who their mothers are, let alone their fathers.
She didn’t just walk away, down to the local women’s shelter. Sheesh!

Why ask unrelated questions?
A number of the men have been convicted on the sex crimes of the under age girls and the “marriages” already, including their leader.
Do you believe that he and they should be returned to the cult to continue the activities?
