By golly, I think you've got it! It's printed right there in penumbras of the Bill of Rights. Right next the the right of the parents to murder their unborn children. [P-marlowe]
LOL!!!!!
Hey, I've gotta give a lot of these round-about pro-polygamist defenders "credit." If I wanted to "loosen up" societal law enforcement on any given moral evil, I'd do what they're doing: I'd make the government the culprit to turn the attention off of the real culprits.
(Hey, it worked in the O.J. Simpson trial...it went from a trial about domestic violence triggered murder with O.J. as the accused to where Mark Fuhrman was on trial for his racist statements...the trial was converted from what a man & woman violently endured to "the process" [civil rights protection] and "processors" [govt. law enforcement]...and if "the process was "off-base" only by a splinter...well, who knows? The state will soon use that splinter against others if you fail to rousingly rally to O.J.'s side...who cares about the blood of the innocent? As long as we're not "next" in the government "checklist") /sarc
The fact of the matter is that the State of Texas has a vested interest in these children, not only because they reside in the State of Texas, but because the State of Texas is paying welfare money to see that these children are properly cared for and that money is going to line the pockets of the FLDS Church Hierarchy.
Frankly I think that anyone who accepts State Welfare money should automatically surrender all rights under the 4th amendment as a condition of accepting welfare. Further, the parents and the children who are the beneficiaries of that money should be required to submit to unwarranted searches and seizures and be forced to submit to random interviews to account for the way in which every penny is spent. If they refuse, then they should not only lose their rights to the money they have received, but they should forfeit their parental rights as well. Harsh? You bet, but the only reason the FLDS Church exists is because the state has been subsidizing this cult for decades.
But of course the ACLU and the Polygamy defenders on this forum would all cry foul if those measures were introduced. They trust the FLDS Child Abusers more than they trust the People of the State of Texas.
It's pathetic really. Absolutely pathetic.
